I still think there might be a twist here.

It's a strange move at 30 years of age, I am assuming not being a Gernan speaker and with a wife and 4 kids.

In my simple mind there seems some illogic here but equally I am past caring as long as we show we can deliver in the bloke's absence.
Exactly what i´m thinking, i don´t get this move at all from Kane, and it wouldn´t surprise me at all if Harry stays!
Somethings not adding up here!

Has there been British media saying Kane wants to go to Bayern and has agreed terms with them, other than citing German sources?

2022 - sign Richarlison because Conte wanted him. Cover for both LW and Striker. Best Chelsea for his signature

2023 - Levy knew we’d have the worst season in years and bought Richarlison because Kane would be off.

You’d think Levy would make better decisions if he had such amazing foresight
I don’t think we pay up to £60m for a cover player.
Insurance isn’t about knowing the future. It’s precisely the opposite.

Hmmmmm....

I think Kane's silence suggests he wants to probably go.

I just don't see the path to glory, other than a Bundesliga title, which means what to the Engkand captain.

That's my bit of disconnect or discombobulation.

Yeah that’s I think an underrated aspect of team building we need. In Kane, Lloris, and Son, we’ve had established international captains and worldwide figures, big voices and examples of true top class professionalism.

Assuming Kane goes, our oldest starting player after Son would be… Maddison, who’s only 26 and really hasn’t led a team ever.

It would be good to get a proper top class professional to show the team the ropes, the sort of impact that a William Gallas had on the team in 2010-12. Dier does his best to be that, and I do think he’s a natural leader, but he’s unfortunately quite shit.
I completely agree. We’ve added a great player in Maddison and some good but relatively inexperienced prospects. Romero is still young, VDV is 22, Dier and Davies are versatile but not a top 6 starting defenders. Adding a few experienced players that could lead by example may make all the difference this year.

What about 30m for a backup LW & 30m for a backup ST......?

Then you considered that, what with CL to also play, you could get an EPL-proven, believed higher quality player you could deploy in a 2-out-of 3 rotation with less of a man for man drop-off instead of buying 2 separate 'maybe'-players?

We won't know for sure; but I certainly perfered that strategy last summer and I know I wasn't the only one.

One of those on Liverpool's shortlist is 22-year-old Fluminense midfielder Andre Trindade, who nearly joined Fulham in January and remains on the radar of the Cottagers.

Fulham have been in talks with Andre but believe the once-capped Brazil international has his sights set on a move to a team capable of offering regular European football. Alongside Liverpool, Andre's representatives have spoken with Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Woolwich, Tottenham and West Ham.

Liverpool have lost both Jordan Henderson and Fabinho to the Saudi Pro League this summer and now hope to find another new midfielder to balance out the squad, with Lavia understood to be Klopp's preferred target.

We actually signed a CB before Liverpool signed a DM.

If we can get Laporte for £30m and he actually wants to come its an absolute no brainer IMO. He is fucking excellent on the ball, even if he only plays 100 games for us in all comps it would be worth it to have such a Rolls Royce of a centre back at this club.

Brighton signing a player that Chelsea and Woolwich were after........shows how far they have come and demonstrates massive ambition.
Does it? All it says to me is that they are spending the money from the MacAllister sale.
Or the Caicedo sale if that happens.
Flip the narrative here...they are a selling club and their best players have consistently left them over the past few years.
"Massive ambition" or just replacing what they've lost?

Laporte is 29/30.

He wouldn't need to play every week.

I think if you are starting a project with Romero and VDV you play them together as much as you can but maybe against City or woolwich, even UTD, Laporte at LCB is a good shout next to Romero. Also, whoever the 3rd CB is, they have to be as good playing RCB when Romero isn't available.

VDV at LB might happen a few times as well I agree but not as your main starting 11 option?
Laporte would be our equivalent of Thiago Silva for the chavs. A leader & organiser, who reads the game well & gives confidence to those around him.

He wouldn't come to Spurs to be a squad option.

The concern is a pretty poor injury history.
