It would have helped if we played more football without Kane, against half useful opposition, to test this theory.
So far he's played half a game against Spam and we scored 2 after he went off. Half a game against a pub team where Richarlison scored 3 and the team 4 without hi, and yesterday, where he got 4 of our goals.
Unfortunately, i can't take too much from any of these pre-season games. It's been a bit of a clusterfuck beyond the coach and teams control. I would have liked us to play 3-5 more games and some of them against half decent opposition. The best team we played was a nearly relegated Spam and we lost.

not sure sure I would take the gamble that we'll be fine without Kane by selling him now.
So we ARE the Harry Kane team? We can't do well without him? Come on....

Why don't we walk away from negotiations if we really want to keep Kane?
I think we have walked away but if Bayern bid Levy's magic number and it is structured right he will listen and then fuck over another manager. The fact is this should of had a deadline of the 31/07 but Levy never learns. There was a reason Ramos got 2 points from 8 Games. The fact is Kane is irreplaceable especially for where we are now.

Are you being intentionally obtuse? You're better than that. The Saudis own Newcastle and Chelsea - they offer him a gold statue of himself to sign for either of their PL clubs.

Not being obtuce in the slightest....... It would be a common interpretation of "The Saudis" given who and how they've been throwing their money about this summer.

Chavs have pretty much been sell-to-buy and NCastle haven't been able to fake their revenues yet so are still being coy with their wallet..... Meanwhile; in "The Desert".

With the utmost respect; you're clearly all in on this if you're bringing Kane's football boots into the equation............ This must be a first for any transfer pantomime.

Not really. Adidas didn't make basketball shoes for years. In their first forays into the sport, there was a statistically relevant increase in lower leg injuries for players who wore Adidas. They recovered to improve their product for the sport - but not until after using a generation of athletes as live R&D testers.

The demands footballers place on a boot differ from those of runners. Particularly as a 31 year old with a history of ankle issues, there's no way you'd get me signing a lifetime contract with a neophyte in the football boot market. This is a serious increase of injury risk.

....My my point isn't to dismiss the value of good footwear for a sports person.

I can't be any clearer..... I recognise keeping Kane beyond this summer is a gamble (I've framed it as such every step of the way).... But it's a gamble that - as a fan - I'm happy for us to take............. I'm not trying to force that feeling on anyone else.

But you can't watch three games where others not called Kane scored goals and then complain that we lose goals if Kane leaves.

Of course a bigger, better data set proves it more accurately but we can only go on what we have.

I'm chuffed that Kane stays because he is clinical, as befits his standing as one of the best in the world, but the system means others should get goals too.

Ok cool. It’s a 60M gamble worth taking then. How many games are played in next season bigger league format? We must net £3M per addtl CL game (ST’s need to pay) after expenses
Matchday revenue 2021-22 (last available figures still?) was £106.1. We played 27 matches, so we brought in around £4M/match. That's before costs. Fixed stadium costs will be more than half of that. We probably net around £1M/match, which is £27M/yr and matches maths I did in another post elsewhere where I examined the impact of the loan payments.

The Brennan Jonhson stuff us weird!

We already have Kane, Son, Richrlison, Soloman, Kulusevski, Veliz AND Perisic for those front 3 positions.

one game a week.

Honestly, there's no room for him - all for offloading Rodon and Spence to Forest.
Perisic will probably be allowed to leave for free and Veliz will probably get a loan (if Kane stays) meaning

Kane
Richi

Son
Solomon

Kulusevski
Johnson

4.5m for cat A. You really think the costs are 3M per game? Must be other indirect commercial benefits for being back in it

A 25M depreciation for a player worth 100M is to be expected

Spurs have the opportunity to:

Great: Keep Kane who gives in and signs a new contract
Ok: Sell Kane to a continental club we'll only play a meaningful match against deep in the CL stages for £100M
Tragic: Keep Kane only to see him sign for Saudi North/Saudi London for free next season and push us down the PL pecking order making CL less likely while we have to watch him celebrate winning trophies over us for years to come

As a Spurs supporter you really feel comfortable that option #1 is as, or more, likely than #3? Really?
