Mate; Berba was 15 years ago...... For many reasons this scenario is completely different.

He & Fergie fucked us at the 11th hour and as a club with far far less clout than we do now we had little option to fight it.

(You just know that Berba would have been exactly the kind of player to sulk and phone it in for 6 months to get the move he wanted anyway..... He prove that by the way he handled his desire to go to Man U.)

I still think we should walk away from negotiations, Levy is making a clear statement that he is prepared to keep Kane and let him walk away for nothing. That means we don't really need Bayern's money and should get get the Tapsoda and any other deals done.

Yes but selling Keane, Berbatov and Defoe in 6 months and the only replacement was Pav. I know Commolli was DOF at the time but you cannot say we were not incredibly stupid with our planning. The fact is selling Kane and relying on a Gift or Richarlison on the eve of the season will be the most egregious failure in Levy's stewardship of the club.

I didn't say #1 was more likely than #3.....

In this instance, for me, it's about the stakes; not the odds.

....There's more potential upside to #1 than just him signing a new deal (see my OG posts on the matter).

Levy is only concerned with the general perception that he's a wonderful businessman. It's all an ego trip. He doesn't give a fig for Harry. Harry's future or Harry's legacy. The behaviour of an egotistical narcissistic self absorbed psychopath.

Tbf, we don't really have a proper right winger and I assumed that's what he was?

Solomon and Porro can play there but their best positions are left wing and right wing back.

Plus, he's HG which we need. I don't mind him, he's really quick, but the price would need to be right. Not some of the fees banded about.
