Levy does have some positives, not letting clubs take the piss with transfers is one of them

How about you pay what we fucking tell you to pay Bayern or you’ll be playing choupo moting up front all season

We aren’t hoffenheim, you can’t bully us

Are you being intentionally obtuse? You're better than that. The Saudis own Newcastle and Chelsea - they offer him a gold statue of himself to sign for either of their PL clubs.
1) Chelsea are not owned by the Saudis. Clearlake doesn't allow more than 5% of any of their investments to be purchased by any one investor. Could they be lying about that? Sure, but it's been investigated by The Athletic and people who specialize in this type of business analysis and they've said it's above board. Also, the FA wouldn't allow 2 separate clubs to be owned by 1 PIF/investor.

2) The League Cup is still a valuable trophy. The scenes from Wembley last year with United and Newcastle don't exist, if that competition holds no weight. It's down the rankings of trophies for a Prem club to win behind winning the league, Champions League, FA Cup, and probably the Europa Cup, but it's still got value for every club's supporters. If it didn't, Pep wouldn't waste his time winning it 5 of the last 8 seasons.

3) Who is the secret boot sponsor for Harry? I haven't heard.

Tbh I'm bored shirtless of kane talk. 2 years ago with that golf course interview with neville he wanted out. Levy will squeeze every last drop of cash from bayern. Have read lewis has told levy to cash in. Business is business after all. Think we will get forest striker, taremi and veluz to mix it up top. We have to start thinking of life after kane. Holiday camp league though Bundesliga. Have something like 2 month winter break. Do think bayern might win CL next season if kane joins them though. If he gets last gasp winner v Woolwich in final all sins forgiven.😀

Yes but selling Keane, Berbatov and Defoe in 6 months and the only replacement was Pav. I know Commolli was DOF at the time but you cannot say we were not incredibly stupid with our planning.

You absolutely can; and here's why:

- Defoe was sold AND replaced by Bent the season before!
- Keane left in 08/09 and we brought Pav in that same window........

1 in / 1 out which is nothing to criticise at that point and we were all set to start the season with:

Berba, Bent, Pav (+ Obika & Dos Santos)

.......BUT Berba fucked us a day or two before the trf window closed.

It had nothing to do with bad planning.

The fact is selling Kane and relying on a Gift or Richarlison on the eve of the season will be the most egregious failure in Levy's stewardship of the club.

OK, so lets assume Levy accepted €80m + €10m add ons a couple of weeks ago..... Who are you replacing Kane with then........???? .

......Realistic of course (re: price/availability/considering size of current club)

So, factoring in net costs then, you put yourself in a position where you gain £70M for him next summer (buyout minus salary increase) and delay rebuilding post Kane a season . Meanwhile, Angi spends a season adapting his tactics to suit a player the likes of which we can't (no one can) replace only to come back next season and ask the manager and squad to now readapt around the Kane size hole.

He's going. Rip the bandaid off and move on. Better now, before Angi starts work in earnest, than after a weird halfway house season.

Edit: also, in your scenario, he almost certainly moves to a direct competitor still. Moving him to Germany now for ≈£100M is by far the best option for Spurs.

You forgot to ad the main advantages of Kane staying next season :

1 Very decent chance, with Kane in team, that we fish in top 5 to qualify for CL (= circa extra £60m/£70m winnings etc)

2 Players that Spurs buy this window get get a season with Kane in side (and winning) to thoroughly bed in - also noticeable that neither Bissouma nor Richarlison from last summer have bedded in, nor has Sarr who was hardly used last season. So by end of this season we have a much more cohesive squad to build round - impossible to easily quantify the financial benefit, but having a squad to build round which will last for a few years will pay off in finishing much higher up the table.

So the £90m BM are offering this summer actually is a lot smaller than the benefit of not selling, with Kane signing a 1 year deal with a buy out clause in.

Tbh, this all just looks more and more that Kane's entourage are the ones wanting the move but Kane isn't really arsed. If he stays, he stays. If he doesn't, he doesn't. He just wants to play football.

I've felt all along this is more a case of the "Kane must leave" narrative reaching critical mass rather than him actually being unhappy and wanting out.

I mean Levy could have just refused the United bid for Berbatov.

Lego boy and Woolwich celebrated Community Shield like they had won the World Cup last night

As long as it means something to the players, It's all good!

But i bet we would be ridiculed by media and other clubs supporters if we won the LC! Because we are Spurs
