I honestly think we are only 2 signings away from a cracking team next season..... Tapsoba and Orban... We don't need a midfielder... We got Bissouma, Maddison and Lo Celso.... As back up, Skipp, Bentacur, Sarr and Devine.
If by some miracle we can keep Harry as well, what better person to teach Orban?
We have shown a lot of potential go forward and Veliz and Orban (and Scarlett) is planning for a great future, get that defence sorted out and we would be difficult to live with and Tapsoba is perfect... A lot of money, but perfect.
This is assuming Van der Ven and Veliz are confirmed of course.

1 - Chance but certainly not a guarantee. We haven't bought a have a manager from Australia -> Japan -> Scotland who has never even coached in the PL, and we finished 8th last season with Kane. To qualify for the CL we'll need to be better than at least 2 of United, Woolwich, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Newcastle. I'd say even with Kane its more likely than not that we don't qualify for the CL.
2 - Players would be "bedding in" to a system/style that's different from the way in which we'd be playing next season, so then it's another trial next year on whether or not the players can adapt/are suited to the new squad.
I understand people want Kane to stay. I WANT him to spend his entire career at Tottenham. But he's pretty plainly signaled he doesn't want to. He gave an interview about wanting to play at City, then went on strike to try and force a City move, then pouted for 6 months that he didn't get to move to City. When it became clear that City were going for Haaland and that chance was gone, he then lumped it and moved on - for a time. It seemed before this summer that he was happy to run down his contract and move on a free.
Bayern came in and have apparently offered him something he's happy to take to move there instead. If we don't make it work, he's leaving on a free next summer. He's been offered new contracts with increased wages and turned them down. Harry Kane will not play for Tottenham in 2024-25, period. All arguments for how we should deal with this situation that try to leave that door open, are simply grounded in a wishful fallacy.

I would welcome the signing of Johnson if it was ever to materialise. For a good 70% of the season he looked like a fish out of water but when Forest started to batten down the hatches and get themselves out of the relegation zone, Johnson really started to look a threat.
As a wide forward and auxiliary striker he could add some much needed pace and direct play to our attack. Obviously I along with everyone else would have an apocalyptic meltdown if he was a Kane replacement but if he was brought in under other circumstances then he could be a very good signing.
Gil is injured and rumoured to be available. Perisic keeps getting linked with a return to Croatia and Son isn’t the player he was in 21/22. Given Ange likes to play high intensity football with taking the foot off the gas forbidden… we’re going to need a new generation of athletic and fit players in the squad. Both Orban and Johnson would be very welcome signings.

I’ve been massively flip-flopping on whether it’s best for Kane to go or stay. Was leaning towards go; there’s something satisfying to me about how it represents the start of a new era and we‘ve really needed this reset. But then he puts a performance in like yesterday and reminds you what a goal scoring monster he is. How can we possibly let that go; but then what happens next summer?
Maybe Levy sees keeping Kane as the key to getting us back into Europe, and that will make us back the money we could lose if he then goes on a free? Either way this isn’t over yet, although I wish it was.
What I know for sure is that it feels very sweet to throw this offer back in Bayern‘s faces today. No one likes entitled fans. Show us some respect.
