He’s 31. He can longer even attempt taking on his man, I suspect he’s finished as a winger
I still have hope in him, lets see what he is like after a few months in Anges system, if its just not working for him then we should be looking to move him on in January.
Its a hard one to get right for Levy as if he had sold him last summer and got mega money for him people would have moaned that we lack ambition , selling our top stars etc

He was on fire the season prior so I can see why he didn’t sell him but last season was awful. Hapless. Agree re: Jan. as a fanbase, we gotta get comfortable with selling players - even City will move on B Silva if they get a good offer. Some people are terrified of selling and so is Levy and it’s a hindrance and holds us back. Why I want PEH out (plus I think he’s shit) and potentially Richy too

you were saying perisic was finished last season, and garbage who was past it. your words, but this pre season you've been praising him highly.
Maybe hold off on the pitch forks for Son, 31 isnt exactly a grandad is it
He was garbage as a wing back. Systems changed now and he’s playing ina a better position

I guess you could argue Son might adapt to a central role but if he no longer has the confidence / speed to beat a man, we have to accept he’s done as a winger (similar to Peri as a WB)

Son probably has enough in the bank to keep and hope form returns but I’m not convinced. Another shot season and he’s worthless

Why are we writing off Son so soon? Even if he isn't starting every game could you get any better players coming off the bench to go at a tired defence?
Conte just run him into the ground, hopefully Ange can get the best out of him.

I'm willing to give Son a season. Although my suspicion is it was nothing to do with his injury last season. Sure, an injury is going to limit your ability to run/sprint/stop
But it doesn't affect your touch, decision making and overall awareness. Those are all the things he struggled with all through the season.

I'll put a caveat on that though. Son wasn't the only one who went years looking like they couldn't control a football. I would say it was so bad, that our style of play was best described as "ping pong football" as the ball bounced off players relentlessly.

Maybe they weren't practicing in training enough? Or maybe our scouts just accumulated too many players with dismal first touches.

The last I heard, his form last season was compromised because he needed a hernia operation. He has had that operation now so we have every reason to hope his form will improve.

He got 14 goals last season, which while a poor return by his standards, is still a respectable tally. I think we can reasonably hope for in and around 20 goals this season.

How many league goals? Honestly his all round play was dreadful, couldn’t control or pass a ball. You can definitely put some of that down to the tactics and positions he was asked to take up, and also the injury but I dunno man, his confidence is gone (perhaps he knows his pace has too)

I am slightly biased as I always prefer comfortable, footballers who pass the ball well to erratic flyers so perhaps im being too harsh but I can only see a 31 year old winger going in one direction, and he’s not a footballer like Kane who can adapt his game

An injury stops him or limits his training which affects tough, decision making and awareness.

Linked with Eze in the Mail, has an agent we are close to (Base) so if there is a guy-out, we will be informed. He’s a lovely player IMO and press resistant, but erratic and sloppy at times but he could sharpen up around better players and really kick in. If it’s 35M, that’s a great deal

Hercules.

My sincere apologies. I went by what I heard last night. Not doing that again. Sorry for getting hopes up. I was convinced. And went against my cautious nature
