Chelsea spent over 600m last season and finished 12th. Chelsea do not show that spending gets you CL football; they sbow that there is FAR more to success than spending big.
I still don’t understand how they can do that. It’s not sustainable in any sense. I hope they are so so shit under Poch. Like his last months at Spurs. Every year they fail is better for football as a whole.

What does selling your top goal scorer ever do? What does constant under investment do?
What does having the highest ticket prices and finishing 8th show you?

We are now well and truly miles behind the likes of Villa and Newcastle. Levy has fucked us a fan base over once again. Levy has fucked over the players. Levy has once again fucked over a manager and thrown him to the wolves.

You do realise his replacement scored 1 goal last season. The replacement also cannot hit a barn door.

The fact is we have been called a big 6 side for the last 8-10 years and we are not. All the rest, when they do not qualify for the Champions League spend until they are back in it. Look at Chelsea they may look like a club with no direction in transfer policy some times they dropped a £100m to improve their midfield. Liverpool are dropping a £100m on Caciedo and Woolwich dropped £100m on Rice.

Spurs charge more than Woolwich per game, how is the club justifying the ticket prices. They can’t they are crooks, they are robbing match going fans.
Chelsea lost their way because the manager wasn't right.
They should be back among it again this season with poch in charge.
Ticket prices are a joke, the club is about the balance sheet rather than the team sheet.
I would be surprised if the Kane money was even spent, a bit like the draw down money last year that not all of it was invested.
It's always the same, cheap or opportunist signings that fill the squad, feel sorry for the manager, who has been shafted at the 11th hour.
This board doesn't deserve success, which is just as well, because they won't be getting any.

A £50 million hit would mean selling him for 5 million ... didn't we already turn down 15?

I don’t want to hear any excuses from the club that this £100M+ is to balance the books from spending already made this summer. Then ENIC are truly fair game for abuse amongst the fanbase.

With Hoijberg likely to also be sold we really need to also get Dier, Sanchez, Reggy etc out the club as a priority. No excuses.

Fully support Ange and his plans but now the club must give him the money to complete the rebuild. We all know a slow start this season will turn many toxic towards the board which could affect the team.

The club must act and bring in another 3-4 quality players asap.

Don’t also underestimate the damage this will do to our ‘pull’ as players wanted to come to play with H.

However, as we’ve learnt from history, new hero’s emerge for us to believe in and hopefully some do this season.

To also add some balance, I do believe we pandered to H with managerial choices and tactically suffered for it with the teams development. Under Ange, he suffers no fools, plays the right way and as a team.

8-10th for us next season. I'll take that if we win the League Cup or FA Cup. Won't hold my breath though.

I can't lie, going from having the England captain and record breaking goal machine as our talisman, to a guy who dances like a pigeon when he scores an offside goal is going to hurt for a while.

The timing of all this could have been better, but it is what it is.

Provided the money is invested back into the squad (and invested well) I'm glad he didn't end up leaving for free.

The biggest problem I have right now is it's our first game on Sunday and we don't have any obvious replacements for the person who created and scored the majority of our goals last season.

Richy will need to seriously step up now. And if we're going to buy anyone else it needs to be done quickly.

Yes, some are. Some people have been banging on about his name again and again insisting that he's a must buy for Spurs.
These are the top scorers in the Jupiler Pro League the last 3 seasons:

020–21 Paul Onuachu 33
2021–22 Deniz Undav 26
2022–23 Hugo Cuypers 24

Yes this player that I've only known for 1 hour and watched YouTube highlights is the future of this club and if we now don't get him it shows as a club we have no ambition and the football association will relegate us to the conference league, all if we don't get the one player I've never heard of
