Well as little as this place means, he was expected to be near the upper 40m/50m mark.... If he is truly considered to be a difference maker then we should just bite the bullet on the extra 10m..... Why? Cos we just spent a month squeezing BM for extra dosh on the Kane deal so ought to make that effort (and little extra cash) mean something.

Big difference between 40/50 and say 60/80 range.

Remembering we apparently paid 30m plus 20m add ons for VDV the lower range is clearly doable. Just depends on whether his club are up for selling him at that price and ManU (looking for a replacement for Maguire) don't re-enter aggressively compete.

Amazing how Liverpool can find £110m down the back of the sofa without selling their biggest asset whenever they need it.
Which do you think is greater:

A) the difference between our revenue over 5 year
B) the difference in our net spend over 5 years

If A>B would you agree the difference in revenue entirely explained the difference in spending and that we were doing ok?

£110 whenever they need it?????

........A club who's record signing was £72m?

Make it make sense.

You ought to have a chat with their fans......... In fact give us a break from your bollocks and go and hang out on RAWK for a few hours.... See how they feel about negative net spends and false promises on big money trfs.

Are you kidding?
Scousers absolutely hate their owners — even though they won them a UCL and and EPL title— because they won’t dip into their own pockets to subsidize the club. #FSGOut has made Twitter trending repeatedly whenever they don’t get their way. It will do so again today when Calceido goes elsewhere.

Liverpool make over 100m more per year than we do. In a year where we don’t make UCL it’s probably higher.
Their wages — the biggest factor in success— are much higher too, I believe.

More will come in but the issue is Levy allowing players to leave for less or using it as an excuse not to spend on incomings.

Aside from PEH, they're all of nominal value anyway....... Finding interested clubs is the hard part.

Toby, Sissoko, Rose, Lamela, Aurier, Doherty all left for nominal or zero fees.... I don't see why this should be any different.

We've already seen Lloris has been told he can leave for free too.

Toby brought in like 13M and Lamela brought in Gil.

You make a good point, but it's often difficult to tell when we're trying to offload a player for anyone who will take him versus looking for a respectable fee.

the ideal scenario

Tapsoba
Eze/Olise
Orban

I'd say Schuurs is way more likely than Tapsoba, would also like us to offer a deal to Laporte.

Eze has 1 or 2 years left is that correct? so a decent fee might do the trick and Olise has a release clause but the talk is City were interested. So if not them, hard to know who we'd be looking at, Gallagher maybe?

Orban will happen.
