Nothings changed though mate.... We ain't getting announcements until the club is ready to make them.

Complaining that they don't hot-shot snippets of info to us (whilst the media play their little guessing games) before the business end (Trfs, legal matter, etc. etc.) is tied up is misguided. No matter how much one might feel in the dark in the interim just irresponsible practice.
To be clear the club shouldn't be providing updates on inside gossip and every last little thing. That would be bad and counterproductive. Weekly, even monthly would be too much.

Ange was stuck with his mandatory media duties in an awkward moment and handled it with characteristic candor and grace. He'll do that bit well as long as he's here.

But the club, via some legitimate spokesperson, it doesn't have to be Levy himself, needs to be able to communicate credibly with the supporters with some degree of regularity.

I don’t know ,you are right but you don’t know either.
If he was willing to pay Ndombele off surely he would have done it by now, he has been stinking the place out since he got here.

Well having loaned him out over the last 2 years and got someone else to pay some of his wages, we've saved paying X-amount of his 10m per year ourselves...... In that respect we've saved money by not paying off his contract.

It’s also not the same situation as paying off Hart, Aurier or Doherty. None of them were on anything close to 200k a week and they didn’t have 2 years left on their contracts
Erm surely the 200k wages and 2 years left on his contract would give Levy MORE reason to let him go for a low or no fee, not less reason. :/

So from all you people who are far more 'ITK' than myself........

Are we going to get a replacement for Kane before the end of the transfer window? Or do we think that what we've got now is what we're sticking with till Jan?

I keep seeing Orban mentioned, but is that realistic? Are Ghent going to sell him to us?
At the moment I feel like the fan speculation over Orban is stronger than the current media links, but I expect something (him or otherwise) to ramp up the moment Kane's departure is announced.

If we did go in for Orban then I don't see how Gent could resist it. As a Belgian league team there'll be a price point they simply can't turn down.

Fab had been doing an end of summer interview, but it's always gonna be terribly vanilla........ And subsequently yawned off by the fans. Levy gives a corportatey chairman blurrb every year or so too and, frankly, I don't even bother hitting play on the video.

I still don't really get what you expect to be revealed........ Anything strategic or trf-budgetary (which of course is the juicy stuff) - current, future of pending - is gonna be held close to the chest.

Pretty damn sure it won't be much different at any other club too.... Unless you're run by clowns like WHs lot.

All our transfers so far have fitted the type of player required to take the club forward, hopefully we will continue to buy well.

Would like to see another striker and CB.

give over guy scored over 20 in a shit fiorentina side

juventus is a graveyard of talent

he will thrive here
Thought who we could bring here to replace Kane and Vlahovic was exactly my first choice. He's good in the air, physical, he's a very good finisher and also has a good pass, and also, he's very young. He's not Harry of course, but I think he could be a very good player in his own way.

No because nobody will pay his wages and he probably won’t leave for less (which he is perfectly entitled to do)

But they'll pay SOME of his wages....... Which is typically offset against the remainder of a players contract if they leave.

In short... Tanguy get's paid by us or a combo of us and his new club unless he finds someone who's gonna pay him an even bigger annual wage.

vlahovic is going for around 55 mill we will not get a better ready made striker for that then him

thats just over half of the kane budget then get in tapsoba

thats big business sense

i would take orban too both are the mould we need

You don't think Tapsoba is a gamble. I have a friend that lives and breathes Bundesliga and he's very sure Tapsoba will be a flop if we get him. Good with the ball. Terrible defender. I haven't seen him so I haven't got a clue. But I trust my friend's football knowledge, so I dont want us to spunk money on him.
The problem with transfers these days is that FIFA and FM have made everyone a "transfer genius" and they all think the fee is the indicator of ability. Tapsoba can stay in Germany and we can sign another guy for half the cost and have just as good a chance at seeing him succeed.

Fab was trying yeah, but his super limited English skills made that tough.

I shared this video a while back, this is excellent and insightful just for football fans in general:

You are seeing this with Ange in the managerial context. Candor and forthrightness in public is much more possible and reflects much better than people usually give it credit for.

There's stuff the club can't say officially, there's always going to be that layer of PR pablum to even the best of it, but the skill involved is not in telling the public nothing, its being informative within those constraints.

Levy is not a skilled public communicator. That's not a mortal sin, and not his background. But he should hire someone who does have those skills. That was part of the consideration on Ange, I'm sure of it. In very different ways Poch, Jose and Conte frequently did more harm then good during the many many times managers are forced to speak to the press.
