I honestly do not understand this Eze hype... to the extent that people want to spend more than half our Kane money on him.

He has been okay for Palace... but not really stood out. He's already 25, and in recent years been at a similar level to Zaha and Olise.

We also have many players in his position already.

Surely we should invest as much as we can at CB and CF now, instead of wingers?
I don't think we go for a straightforward top drawer CF now.

Firstly, who would that be? Secondly we have Richarlison who will be given a chance and Ange was bullish on Son as CF.

So I think we go for punt on a young prospect instead.

I like Eze because he could also play wide forward (in the event Son moves central) and improve our creativity in midfield. Outside of Maddison we are still lacking there.

In terms of the 'already spent Kane money' line, let's dig deeper:

Spurs net spend this window (discounting making loans permanent): -3 million

So if you don't count Kulu and Porro... we've MADE money net in this window!!

For comparison, in this window:
Woolwich: €197.75m
Manchester United: €168.60m
Aston Villa: €85.10m
Burnley: €75.80m

Great stuff Levy!
you think Levy is "not counting" Porro and Kulusevski?

As I've said a few times previously...we have signed

Veliz 13m
Maddison 40m
Porro 39m
Kulusevski 25m
VDV 35m
Vicario 16m
Solomon free

168m spent

Kane 100m
Winks 10m

110m received

so 58m net so far. My belief has always been that we would spend around 80m net so that's 22m in the kitty.

sell
Ndombele 8m
Hojbjerg 30m
Tanganga probably loan
Reguillon probably loan

so add another 38m to that kitty if we are lucky. So around 60m (imo of course) to bring in a CB and forward type player.
My figure maybe is Conservative so maybe 60 to 80m to get 2 or 3 players in (if Levy can see it in himself to have a 100m net spend).

Seems Orban, Eze, CB are what most of us see as sensible ways to spend Kane money.

Let’s hope Levy stays on track behind the manager and doesn’t get tempted…

If you ignore our two most expensive signings (60m) in transfers we’ve made money!

Let’s arbitrarily ignore players for other teams as well shall we? Without rice and havertz, Woolwich have a net spend of only €20m. No ambition!

Didn't know it was a competition in spending €€?!

Tiresome to read all the whining about money and shopping, it's not like we are without players, are we? Throwing money out for a bunch of new players at once are tried before, Chelsea latest, and and a few years back it was us, and see how that went?

A rebuild is best done over some time, and we need some patience now..
