We do need an exciting signing before deadline day imo if for nothing else than morale purposes. Things could get very dark and ugly if the team sputters at the start.

Spending 10s of millions for optics or moral is a silly idea........ just stick to the basic premise of buying what we need because we need it.

Because Ndombele to Napoli is the same as Kulu to Spurs, he became a Napoli player and they had an optional buy clause. So surely we must count that money in the incomings, if we count the Kulu money in the outgoings. Do you understand why this doesn't make any goddamn sense?

And no they didn't. People didn't even count Porro's fee and that was a fucking obligation. You don't remember people here complaining about Levy getting Conte a player on loan

Kulu we had a conditional obligation to buy..

But

Taking your point on, if Napoli had taken the option, the incoming would be counted from the time he joined them and signed a contract to play for Napoli.

They did count Kulu, as did Skysports and other big media like talk sport saying things like “Conte was backed”.

Let’s say this bluntly:

If the club don’t invest further after selling Kane, and considerably, and the sum total of Kane = Vicario, VdV, Solomon, Maddison and Veliz, they deserve riots.

Levy and the board need to be hounded relentlessly out of the club.

I’m not talking about whatever they ask you bell. If Levy (the failed Mr Byrite FD) perceives him as a 50M player, yet Ange is adamant he’s his man - pay over the odds, 60M-70M…. Why are you so terrified of getting players the manager wants for a high price? For key positions, it’s fine. Look for value on the younger / potential signings where we have more flex

If you're too busy gobbing off about Levy to make your point clearly to start with then YOU'RE the "Bell".......

The fact that you think anyone is "terrified" of Ange getting a player he wants; that also make you a "Bell"......

Conte WAS backed, it doesn't matter if we paid for Kulu or not, he had a ready made PL player on his hands.

That’s not really the case though is it. Backing is relative to the manager you get. Conte is a cheque book manager who wants to win titles, to get a squad with the potential for a title from where we were it probably would have cost at least £400m of players to be brought in. We treated him not like a short term cheque book manager which he is but a longer term project manager which he isn’t.

We didn’t back Conte for what he is, whether or not we should have even hired someone like that or Jose in the first place is another question. But he never had a title capable squad.

We backed Conte by any standard, he got like six first team players in a year and a half.
