Orban and Veliz are actually smarter than normal signings IMO.

We know we can’t replace Kane while Ange likes a striker who runs the centre backs (Richarlison and Son could do that).

So we invest in the best elite young strikers from around the world. At least 1 of them should hit the highs in a few years while we have Son and Richarlison for now.

I didn't know he had an injury. Was that before or after the WC?
Yeah it was before but really a chronic thing. He got hurt in spring/summer 2022 with a “sports hernia” (officially pubalgia) along with a hamstring injury, which was recurring and caused him to miss games in the World Cup as well. Constant groin issues too. definitely was never fit last year.

Neither the Porro nor Kulu fee should be counted towards backing Ange.

Again... Kulu is his own little predicament cos of all the minutia around his 18 month loan.

In theory we could have chosen not to make him permanent last month; equating to 2 things:

1. Conte was provided with a player that played a major part in him getting CL in 21/22

2. Ange 'could' have still had another 25-20m quid in the pot to spend on a diff RW.

(I'm not trying to argue finance here; I'm talking about the provision of players for either manager.)

Net spend is -2m on improvements from last years squad and 68m overall.

Levy defenders need to explain that in the context of Woolwich spending 200m plus

Levy has to explain the interim net spend of the window when there's still 3 weeks left of the window to buy players????

Calm your tits, FFS.... You've been triggered by a throw away line from the Athletic which runs contrary to what the manager (and The Athletic also !!!) said.

Is he going to end up a bit of a perma crock now then?

Tbh, whilst I may be wrong about him being a donkey if he was injured, those injuries make him an ever bigger concern to splash 60m on.
