Which directly ties into the FACT that Ange said he still wanted 2/3 more players and all the corresponding chatter either side of that comment from so-called 'sources'.

The basic fact is that The Athletic won't know how much we have or don't have to spend........ But you honed in on that and ignored the rest cos of Levy 'vibes'.

Sorry, you say I ignore that part in the tweet, when it's precisely because he mentions BOTH scenarios in the exact same tweet which raises the question on both possibilities.

I get that Ange wants more players (crazy if he didn't) but him actually getting them this window is another thing (I also don't know who he's referring to in the 2-3, if it already includes the likes of Veliz and VdV). While I hope it changes with him, we don't exactly have a convincing track record of getting the manager what he really wants when he needs it. If that's what you refer to Levy 'vibes', then yes, that influences my opinion of what I think he'll do. And sorry if you're not really interested in this, entirely your prerogative, but you did chime in and call me out for ignoring something I did not.

That makes a lot of sense. Sonny and Richy as our key CF options now, with Orban and Veliz our punts for the future on deals that are reasonable. We still need that ready-to-go CB, especially if we want a 3-back option, unless Ange is going to accept working with Sanchez and Davies for now (I'd put these 2 ahead of Dier). I've not had a chance to watch Phillips at all and don't know if he's ready to step up.

As I just said to Raum..... If we decided not to make Kulu permanent last month (which was a legit possibility) then there'd be 25-30m MORE left in Ange's pot.

As far as "Spurs books" go; that's just a fact.

But still.... Like I said on more than one occasion - for practical discussion's sake I typically agree; just count them when they arrive - but Kulu's situ is a 'quirk'......

But whatever..... if one looks at the "Spurs books" our cash balance is the same whatever way you slice it.

Yeah Kulu is a grey area as he was part obligation.

Even more grey area as Ange seems to really like him.

As you eluded, this seems to be far along, just really annoying we didn’t get a £/€ agreement in the hours yesterday (when it was clear Kane was going, but not confirmed).

Wouldn‘t make sense for Gent to not up the fee €5-10m today.

Truly thought we’d have two deals agreed the same day as Kane (CB and Striker).

For us he came into a squad that wasn’t elite, therefore we need to instantly get a top squad which means huge initial spending (£300-500m) to get him more elite players then maybe win the Premier League. After that he fucks off.

We gave him some players but nowhere near a squad capable of even an outside title challenge so forth was the best he could do. He then fell out with everyone and fucked off.

Conte did a good job given the circumstances before doing his normal fall out with everyone routine. Conte was such an ill fit for a club that needed a long term rebuild although not as bad as Jose or Nuno. Not in a million years was Conte ‘’backed’’ relative to what he is used to, you can’t make a cheque book manager a project manager.

To be fair, I think you are rewriting history with hindsight. We were all overjoyed with Conte joining because he could bring success. what become patently obvious was that he had one style of play and once teams worked that out we were in trouble.

conte was backed. We bought 10 players in his two Transfer windows and with the exception of Spence he never said they were not his choice.

If he ever came back to the premier league to manage he will be a disaster whichever team he manages. The top teams are fluid with people interchanging positions, and not to mention attacking.
