Maybe. But people genuinely thinking a guy/consortium/gang spending billions on a "money club" would then run it lean was hilarious.
The only way they'll ever go "back to the old Chelsea" is with w a monumental fuck up. They're too big a name now to just suddenly go back to playing football on a dog track and being at the same level as West Ham and Wimbledon.

Good prospect a few years ago but not really developed very much in recent years, probably partly due to the club not loaning him out enough. Technically very good but still struggles physically. He no longer counts as u21 this season so would take up a squad place if he's kept around. Has 1 year left on his deal although club might have an option to extend a year. If they have the option, might be a case of extend a year and give a final chance on loan but listening to offers

They typically don't though...... That's the myth.

Very few clubs don't have a drop of in quality between #1 & #2 in most positions. The doped clubs are not the norm.

Take Liverpool for example... They haven't had a proper back up to TAA for years and can't currently boast a DM; let alone 2 of equal high quality.

Woolwich's #2 ST after Jesus..... The very mediocre Nketiah..... Who's Saka's #2?

I could provide untold further examples, but the you ought to get the picture.



As per earlier post; seeing as you brought it up: how do YOU define "squad player"?

What's acceptable from him after a 10/15/20 game consistent run?

Okay, let's break this down.

Firstly, can we ask if he was he given a fair shake by Conte last season? He had sporadic appearances, mostly in his least effective position at RW. He played a couple of games as CF, and had no opportunity to build rhythm or relationships with team-mates.

Secondly, his goal record for Everton. Most of that time there he was playing wide off Calvert-Lewin, in a team that mostly never had the ball, or was a total shambles and set badly up to try and counter. If looked at that way, it's very respectable.

Now, he's had one game in a team adjusting to a new system, with new players, against a side sitting outrageously low and very disciplined. There'll be more space in other games for sure. And most importantly he just needs a few goals to get that confidence flowing. All strikers do, and only a tiny, tiny minority are like Kane and don't let a couple of goaless games not affect them.

Is he Kane? No. Long-term is he the striker we need? Most probably no too. Should we panic now and just buy one to replace Kane? Definitely no. He can definitely do well in this system, and we have to be absolutely sure about the striker we sign if we're spending big. I'm happy to wait rather than make a mistake.

Agree but no one to blame but ourselves on Porro (i assume thats the other one). They knew Conte was going and signed Porro anyway. Thought it was folly at the time. As for Richarlison, i just cant see it. He doesnt have any outstounding attributes to mark him out. At the moment Son should be our striker imo.
