The front 3 aren't going to be that bad again, Brentford actually defended them really well I thought and they played in a low block with 5 at the back, they're not that easy to break down.

Also I think we'll end up getting Johnson from Forest to compete with Kulu as he's homegrown.

It was 8 v 10 with a congested low block basically the entire game. Not easy to break down.

Absolutely. And players going there need to wise up. What point and chance to play regular football.

I know it's nigh on impossible but I would love a handicap system, based on whatver metric could be reasonably applied ..

There is no way Chelsea for example should be starting on the same points as those who have not bought anyone or whose expenditure is a tenth of the spendthrifts.
We will still finish above them. Their dressing room will be poison as they have too many players that all think they will play. We have a big squad but about 15 of them know they won’t play even a handful of games.

I mean, it’s clear he didn’t want to play the shit Conte/Jose football but it seems like he’s happy under Ange.

We shouldn’t take a massive loss on a player just because.
It looks that way but I’m just not sure about GLC. I’d like him to be the guy we bought obviously and hope he’s got a a good bond with ange and Romero l, enough to buy in. He’s just been so flaky in the past.

I really hope we don’t go for Johnson and let’s be honest there’s no way we will pay what they want. I think we have a ready made right winger in Porro. Use the money we have to get a real centre forward in. We need a focal point with pace on either side of that focal point.

I doubt we will finish above them.

Their excessive expenditure has bought some very good players, as you would expect.

If their manager gets them to gel then it’s inevitable they will do well.

Nah, Ndombele is worse.......

It doesn't really get any worse than a lazy footballer who'd rather not play.

(And no; before anyone says it; this is not remotely the same as Disco Benny only seeing the game as a job..... He was still a pro who brought 'it' when the whistle blew!)
I actually admired Beni for his honesty. And as you say, it had no negative impact on his performances. Must have taken a lot of guts (or maybe a lot of 'fuck you, I say what I like and don't care what anyone thinks') to make such an admission... Good on him. :)

I said he can do a job.

........"in all 3 MF roles".

And I said: "You say that, but he'd be a piss poor DM and by your measure he can't cover Maddison......"

As I began saying to start with; it's pointless one saying "I think player X can do a job" if you don't actually want them to do it when it comes to the crunch. We're just back to that sketchy concept of "good enough to be a squad player".... Peeps say it but don't mean it.

Basically; he can't do what you said; so either he's a back-up to Maddison or you get rid.; but don't expect a player equally as good as Maddison to sit on his arse all season waiting for JM to get injured.

Given the poor fit our wingers seem to be for this system, the creative mid role takes on even more signficance. Would be foolish to be left short there.

So you'd rather spend money on a back up AM: rather that fix the system on the basis that it's intended to work and spend that money on wingers instead?

Sorry; that's a needlessly convoluted strategy.
