I chose to comment on the state of affairs that you complained about...... That's not making anything about me.

This has rapidly become meta as fuck; but whatever; you're just being silly.

Look at your OG post...... You had a moan about a cross section of the forum; you didn't specify or direct it to be towards any individuals. If you expect to be able to do so uncontested, you should use the DM function instead.
Ok

Nothing happening. Lock the thread. Turn the heat up at the protests.
I couldn't even find them on Saturday. Got an earlier train just to have a look/make up the numbers

Agree, but this is a massive decision. I would personally prefer to take a risk and just go with those two than lump up 100M on a player that’s bang average, and we are stuck with for five years

Clubs our size are big enough to absorb costly mistakes. We have to be and 2 games for Udogie and Sarr, (a few more are), hardly proof in my book of money well spent... yet.

Sorry, but waiting for a striker would be criminal.. On this area of the pitch, we wait and it will cost us dearly, even if getting a striker carries no guarantees.

At least the club can then say but we were unlucky. Right now it would be you deserve the sh!t you have left yourselves in..

See that last sentence is where it’s not about balance at all and really comes off more like an attempt to manage people. Not saying it is but that’s how it comes off.

When you go about using negative language about people, implying they are unreasonable, emotional, irrational, foolish, stupid, conspiracy theorists etc etc because they don’t post the way you want them to, you aren’t about balance, you are about attempting to condition them out of posting things you don’t like. It’s a passive aggressive attempt at enforcement.
Agreed. I'm not going to throw my toys out of the pram and panic. I'm going to pick one and commit wholeheartedly to it.

I have no idea why people think VDV would play LB over Davies, who was just subbed in against United.
VDV can’t play as the full back in the way Ange has us set up. Imagine the big playing as the inverted full back? Davies will be the left back cover.
I get why people speculated about it before the season but we can see the way the manager is thinking now.

It never made much sense to me from the start..... The whole idea bubbled up from the fact that VDV played there as emergency cover a handful of times last season (not because he has a substantial past at LB)...... It always seemed to be more about trying people to 'fudge' in and create game-time for the desired new CBs than that anything to do with the LB position itself.

The funny thing is that to a degree the Ange LB role is kinda a hybrid of LB and how Conte wanted his outside CBs to play when we were in possession (i.e. something that Davies had spent the last 18 months doing.

It does appear to be one of the most physically demanding roles on the pitch however... Eso. if it's a back n forth game. So one would rightfully wonder how Davies would cope athletically over the course of 90mins.... Perhaps Skipp or Sarr can be schooled to be the 'freshen up for the final 20mnutes' sub in the games where Udogie is not available?

For sure - it is frustrating.

What are your expectations for the season?

For me - top six finish and a cup semi-final at least seem reasonable considering where we are today as a club.

It's a shame that is where we are but with a new manager, new players many of whom are quite young I think that is a pretty fair expectation. ANother CB and Forward won't increase my personal expectation but it will make me feel a bit more comfortable that we will reach it.
I guess that's it. If we were to get a top CB and top ST then I would honestly expect more. Top 4 OR a final. To claw back the ground we lost over the past few seasons. To get neither seems like we might be standing still as Newcastle, Brighton and Villa move past us. They are desperate for some of the euro money.

Top 6 and Europe League and losing another semi, final, ambition ?

When did I say ambition?

That's my expectation this season based on where we are at right now. I feel it is quite realistic based on our current circumstances.

I want this season to get us prepared and ready for a huge push next - it will take a bit of patience for Ange ball to take hold no?

Look how long it took Artera to get them to where they are. Their fans calling for him to be sacked then sucking him off last season look like an even bigger bunch of clowns than they normally do.

Being frustrated at where we are now and blaming enic/Levy is all well and good but it doesn't change our current situation and what is realistic to expect from it.

That was because Conte was in charge, it might have not been necessarily the case with Ange.
I think its a good model to be buying a potential player and then sending them back out on Loan , regular Game time will help with their development - the trouble is we cant take that risk for a Kane replacement - we need a proven goal scorer to come in and rotate with Richie.

think it's also trendy.

Newcastle play Dan Burn at LB, City play as many CBs as they can, woolwich use White as a RB...
