I think its more tempting to wonder whether three cunts have just decided to run down their contract instead of actually going somewhere they can play

Starting to feel like 'Player Power FC'. Why has it come to this?

No don't tell me... I can guess.

EDIT: Does this happen at other clubs as much as us? I never check other forums so would have no idea.

you got the wrong clip 🤪😉😇

I’m not. I’m concerned with the composition of our squad. I in no way expect perfection but I think we have 2 clear weaknesses:-

1) We’re an attacking player short. Whether that’s a CF or a wide player, it feels to me like we’re a body short in the attacking areas in the absence of Kane. This is compounded by the poor performances of Richy and the inconsistency of Son over the last 12 months.

2) Depth at CB. VDV has looked a great buy in his first 2 games but the prospect of Romero getting a bad injury and us reverting to Sanchez, Dier or Tanganga petrifies me, and it has the possibility of unravelling our whole season. No additional CB is very poor risk management from the club IMO.

I’m not into panic buying and I want us to buy the right players for Ange’s system, but we’ve needed more CB reinforcements for 2 years now and if we’ve genuinely known Kane was likely to leave all summer I don’t accept we shouldn’t have appropriate options lined up. Maybe we do, there’s still time I guess.

NB i dont agree with those saying we need an additional CM, even if one of PEH or GLC leave. We have enough quality options there IMO and I want Bentancur to get mins when he’s back and available. I think he fits this system like a glove.

So in summary, not about money for me, all about need. 👍

Love this post - agree and think the club would too.

I'm fucked off that our succession planning at CB and FW has been poor but I do have some optimism that when we do buy the players we need in those positions, we will be going after a player that is the right fit and not just spunking money on a square peg for a round hole.

Due to mismanagement over the last few years, we need to sell before we buy anyone. Also our home grown quota limit is getting pretty dangerous.

I want a few players in but we can't be taking players in right now and if we do, it is probably prudent to bring someone in who is home grown.

Reckon we should hijack the Spam's move for Kudus tbh. Very good player, can play in a few positions up front, reckon we could swoop in with £40-45m and get it done before they know wtf is going on. Rather take a punt on him than Johnson, even if Johnson helps solve the HG issues we've got.

Seen a lot of people that want Sanchez to stay now, and for Dier to leave. Assuming Tottenham sign another CB this window, this debate is between who gets to be FOURTH choice CB.

Both these players’ contracts expire next summer in 2024. Spurs has two confirmed offers from Galatasaray and Spartak for Sanchez, while Dier has none. Is the difference in quality between these two that big, to the point where the club should be rejecting £8-12m offers for Sanchez just to force Dier out of the door one season early?

There is no denying that Sanchez is probably the better of the two for this system, but in a season where minutes for FOURTH choice CB will be very scarce, is it worth it to reject guaranteed money for Sanchez when both will be out of contract next summer? The difference between Dier and Sanchez isn’t that much anyway, and for me Dier is better on the ball than him

It’s a no brainer for me, i’d much rather keep Dier for one more season as 4th choice and take the money for Sanchez. Apologies for the essay

Fulham want Dier, but he doesn't want to leave.

Is Sanchez fourth choice though if Romero is injured? Surely as it stands he’s second choice for the right CB berth?

Of the two there’s no way I’d choose Dier over Sanchez unless you’re looking to ship a shed load of goals when he features!
