We haven't got £100m from Kane to spend.
We're currently £50m into the red, despite Kane.

Why do you think it's so deathly quiet on incomings right now?

I'm so happy our new stadium has made us so much more competitive.

I'm fairly comfortable at this stage anyone who wants to quote me and argue with this will already be on my ignore list, so save yourself the bother suckers.
Hence to spend wisely which spending 40-50M on Johnson is not. Especially when we have a number of forwards who just need to step or work on the training ground d trying different patterns position etc. we really need another quality defender. The forwards will just have to up their gane.

Or you could look at it this way: we bought 3 quality starters in key positions that needed upgrading/filling and a good bench option in Solomon that did very well in the PL in his stint with Fulham.

What are you expecting us to do? Replace the whole starting XI in one window?
presumably once those signings were completed they were free to do other things from that point on. Doesn't look like they've been up to much does it? Not even managing to offload any of the deadwood.

Probably won’t happen until this time next year and, in N’Dombele’s case, ‘25.
Of course, that gives us plenty of time to bring in some new deadwood.
It happens to every team but we’ve really been stuck with more than most. 2019 was an absolute disaster.
Reintegrating Dier and Lloris into the squad would be refusing to move on and hamstringing Ange with those mistakes.

Keeping Ndombele on gardening leave isn't the same thing.

I think the more pressing issue is that he’s grabbed control of the wheel.

There’s no reason for Ange to reintegrate them into the squad. He’s a limited number of places and unless he’s struggling with HG players then it’s totally regressing.
We can’t unilaterally place Ndombele on gardening leave. It’s been done to death today why it can’t happen. We can risk making him train with the kids but he’s going nowhere unless it appeals to him.
If he doesn’t turn up up for training it’s a disciplinary matter. If he does then he may have to accept training with the reserves (but even that kind of “demotion” is problematic potentially)
If he’s told to stay away then he’s being deprived of the facilities to do his job.
He may not care (I suspect he doesn’t) but his agent/lawyer will be all over it.
He can turn up, jog around a bit, have a kick around with the kids, go for his lunch and fuck off home after a nice massage if he’s feeling it in his legs. All on the clubs time. All “tools” to allow him to keep his part of the contract.
It’s hugely frustrating, but that’s how it plays out while he sticks to his guns, refuses loans or moves and turns up sporting his beanie hat and silly grin every morning.

At the end of the day, we have significantly less games this season without Europe and it is entirely possible for us to make a legitimate target of winning both domestic cups. Of course, the league title is a dream, but top 4 is possible.

It seems to me that Ange wants to ensure he can use all 5 subs during his games so that he can overwhelm the opposition later in games with high energy. Play keep ball in the first half and make the other team run around, and then unleash relentless attack in the 2nd half.

There seems to be questions as to why we are signing a winger. Well, Sessegnon and Gil are injured; so that leaves us with Perisic, Son (both over 30), Kulu and Soloman. A single injury and we are fucked in that area. Son, Kulu and Perisic aren't suited to playing the full 90 minutes, so we need to ensure there is always rotation options.

Porro can step in at RW
