It’s not the slightest bit fishy to you that we’d want it out there who our manager’s top target is?
I think that’s the way it’s supposed to be: the club targets the manager’s target.
Isn’t that what we did with Porro?
Of course, I’ll be very surprised if the club haven’t set (financial) parameters around who Ange can target. I guess Joao Felix is off the table.

Right.

So:

Ange can be into the idea of signing Johnson.

And

The leak of it being his “top target” could be club PR to manage the fans after the sale of Kane.

They can both be true.

I’d ask if you agree but you are going to find a way to disagree anyway just to be a troll and then I’m putting you back on ignore.

I’ve accepted it.

I’m open minded to what he can do for us.

It’s also not that I’m saying Ange isn’t on board. Ange himself says no player comes in he doesn’t want.

I believe him.

The “top target” leak just stinks of PR to manage the fans.

You can’t tell me there was a single Spurs fan that would have been ok with Kane being sold and the only forward recruits being Solomon and Johnson.

There are no forwards to buy.

Name 3 that we could/should have considered and that would have been likely to come?

How about instead of honing on a single word, hone in on the sentiment. Either pay whatever it takes for a truly elite forward (winger or striker), or get someone who would be a clear upgrade on our forwards, but at a reasonable price, or a prospect who you intend to actually play (like Udogie, not Veliz).

Neto is an example of the latter, since the former isn't/wasn't available.

Certain word have gravitas in certain conversations/contexts......

No need to be so guarded..... The were 2/3 elements to my post preceding post... That's the only one that was unresolved; so I asked again.
