Quite a few fans seem to think the footballing world is full of prolific goal scorers but Levy’s unwilling the fund the transfer and in case Levy pay up, they can’t wait to join Spurs if given the chance – as if it’s a birth-right for Spurs to have a top-quality CF.
Fact is that there are very few top-quality CFs around, and those few are outside Spurs’ reach for now,
Even crazy spenders Chelski, with all their money, have yet to get a quality CF. Man Utd. took a chance on relatively unproven Højlund (costing them £72m).
Heck, even Real Madrid don’t have a quality CF (so far this season)
Gift Orban seem to be the most popular choice, even though very few had even heard of him before he was linked to Spurs. This season he’s scored 2 goals in 4 games - behind Vincent Janssen’s 4 goals (ok, it’s still very early season). I dare claim that Richarlison, had he played in the Belgian Jupilo league, he’s score at least as many goals as Gift Orban. I am not saying he can’t become a hit for Spurs but let’s get real: none of us have seen enough of him to categorically state that he’s the man to be Spurs’ next CF.
Martial was tearing up Ligue 1 before he joined Man Utd., Real Madrid spent €60m a Luka Jovic, who was tearing up the Bundesliga, and Vlahovic was tearing up Seri A but not last season ( after switching club to Juve).
Then you have the “unknown”, like Mitoum and Mahrez, who arrived as “nobodies” and yet became huge hits.
There are no guarantees in the transfermarket.
The only one I dare say who would become a hit in the EPL is Victor Osimhen, but he would cost at least £150+ - if Napoli would sell him. And he most probably wanna join a bigger clubs than Spurs anyway.

Think we need to push the boat out for Pepe. Been looking at his game online and his dribbling and one on one take ons are ridiculous. Think he could be a game changer with our system. Happy to chuck Son up top if Richy doesn’t find his scoring boots. Better than splashing a load of cash on someone unproven. Toney in Jan
Yes Pepe seems a much better player than Johnson. Plus his the sort of player you want when camped in the oppo pen box. Johnson’s pace there doesn’t really work unless his got really good quick feet. £55 M for Johnson or pay a little extra get Pepe who also covers multiple positions and would provide another creative option.

I think we need another yes. Mainly because Son is off the back of his worst season with us and no guarantees he'll get back to form. Even if he does he'll be 32 next summer with 12 months left on his contract. We're not Man City. Ange had a striker for Celtic last season who scored 34 goals in his system.
He scored 27. Against the most shit opposition imaginable and without his goals they'd have been just fine. Richie would score 30 in that league too. And although we're not City, that's the style we play, where goals come from everywhere.
