Honestly, makes sense that Brentford would stop at that point. We can afford to overpay for Johnson but they don't have the same revenue streams.

The title is the biggest mystery of the transfer window, watch it if you're curious I guess.

Gold being on Holiday in Italy means we're definitely buying someone.

Yeah, but he's not in front of his usual blue wall.

Tbh johnson favours a move to us. It's a sideways step if he joins brentford. Tottenham will always have the bling when attracting players. Tbh I think we will get him with sanchez and spence as part of deal imo.

I get that everyone needs work-life balance / to have holidays, but I really can't figure out how someone who's literal job is to report on transfers goes on holiday during transfer windows as much as Gold does :maddisonhmm:
To be fair (and I'm betraying my deep knowledge of the Alasdair Gold lore here) I think he has a teenage daughter who is still in school.

With Rob Guest on hand to cover for him at Football London, I can understand why he'd want to squeeze in a last bit of holiday before September comes.

Huh? If we score more than last season (which was our highest scoring season in the past 5 years) without replacing Harry, why is it moot? The objective is for the team to score goals, not for a specific player to score a certain number. It's really weird logic.
Because i'd naturally expect an upturn in goals by not playing massively tedious football and hopefully finishing higher than 8th. The question should be would we score more goals signing say Jonathan David than not signing him and going with Richarlison.

The first thing you're taught as a journalist is the need to be succinct.

51 minutes is self-indulgent crap.

It's nonsense. How many people does he really think he's reaching with that kind of video. How many people have time to watch 51 minutes of an incredibly boring man talking about football. Just give us the key info in a 5 minute vid, its not hard.
