It does not make sense to bring Mbappe into this equation. There was hardly aby doubt about Mbappe's talent from the moment he made his Monaco debut.
Kvaradona had already shown on the international stage as well as in the Russian league that he's quality from an early age, and was more proven already than Obran.
Kim had been recommended to Spurs by Son several times...
I am not saying that Obran can't become a hit but I have my doubt that he'll reach the level of Kvaradona & Kim (both were world class last season).
Mbappe is a bad example because he was just 18 and doing it in the Champions League for that great Monaco side, how much further along the age/development curve can you possibly be?

KMJ and Kvara work though, just in the sense that what you were seeing in relatively weak leagues was the real thing, these were players that were going to be able to apply those same skills against the toughest possible opponents.

But for every Luis Suarez there are two Vincent Janssen's. Scouting is hard.
