If we get fati that's a great signing imo. Preferably permanent.

Not preferably! It has to be permanent, or at the very least with option to buy that neither Barca or Fati can jump ship from. If we're bringing him, it should be because we believe his body will hold up injury-wise.

Being a testing site where he simply goes back to Barca if he has an injury free season is a non-starter.

Even if we get a Fabrizio "here we go" on Fati...Don't fall for it! He'll fail the medical when it's "discovered" that he has had knee problems in the past. Then, the deadline will have passed and we'll try again in January.

you know there is 0% chance there will be a buy clause. Levy has seen that he can get a highly rated player and is blinded by that. Johnson made more sense but like last summer Levy is going to leave us short and we are still going to have Ndombele, Dier, Davies and Sanchez on our books.

If we get Fati & Johnson it's a start, still like to see at least one centre half minimum, cannot rely on Sanchez and Dier again. If PEH goes a mid as well, no way this all gets done at this stage?
What will this yrs excuses be, punctured wheelbarrow carrying the war chest, we tried but no value or just that Enic never go the distance?

Is this Fati deal a case of Johnson is too much so we'll go cheaper and easier, like the Vicario deal?

You do know Brentford were in discussions about Raya with both ManU and Bayern who declined to bid £40m...... leaving Brentford with very few options to sell,

The £40m Brentford wanted would have Raya one of the most expensive GK transfers in history.

Spurs were right to move on to sign the best GK in Serie A at a much lower price.

Who knows with us. Johnsom seemed (according to the reports) just a matter of closing the valuation difference.

What we wikl end up doing is securing a lpan for a player who will break down and leave us without the firepower that is required in this league.

You sell one of the bettee strikers for 100 million pounds and you don't even buy a striker of some standing to seek to in part cover the hole.

I did not believe even we would do that.

Johnson over N’Dombele every time

That Spurs must invest in general to achieve success is not an argument for paying over the odds in any given deal.

Having a complete squad of good players who fulfill the manager's needs is the requirement, not anything else.

That will cost a lot of money over time, have no fear.

Which is the greater risk, Fati blasting back toward his former superstar trajectory and back into centrality in Barcelona's plans, or Johnson being a squad player mediocrity?

We trouser 50M and get a great individual season in the former scenario.

But we're trying to build something to the point of most of us were okay with saying that this is a transition season; if nothing else before we started the season on fire.

Having a great individual season from someone we're not "building with" isn't all that interesting imho.
