I’m not broken up aboht Fati to Brighton. Would have been interesting to see if he has anything left in the tank post-injury, but a straight loan with no option to buy doesn’t fit the project we’re undertaking.
I’m also cynical and think it was probably always Brighton with Spurs links leaked to seal the deal (or vice versa if we wind up taking the loan without a buy option).

Yeah - the lack of English links does lean towards Spurs not being as close as the unreliable Spanish sources were saying.
I think the closest we got from English sources was that Fati was offered to English clubs (Mostly Spurs and Chelsea) but nothing was ever followed up outside of the Spanish sources saying we were close.
