I think Clive Allen said he does this last minute brinkmanship because he enjoys it, no other reason....and before anyone says what does he know he was around the backroom staff for years and caretaker manager briefly.
Whilst not in for the same reasons, I think if Gallagher did end up signing, Spurs fans will begin to fall in love with him the same way they have Maddison in my opinion.

Take Kane out of the equation as an exception. Winks and Tanganga (and Skipp) are the sort of players you should be getting through the academy to sell for profit. Then buy better players.

Not really the same player but I think we'd end up loving him for the same reason we loved someone like Parker.
Who I remember a fair few having their doubts about too when we signed him.
Exactly we need to move them whilst their stock is high. For example Skipp to Norwich when they came up and throw in a buy back in the event he goes exponential.

I think poch not loaning out players set our academy back years! Players need to be getting minutes in them not just training with the first team.
The Kane, Mason, Winks and co. generation netted us roughly 200m......... The next generation was balls'd up by a shit pathway, no loans and a load leaving for free.
Hppefully the changes both Fab and Ange have put in place turn a corner for us.
