I've hated so much of this window. The worst part about it is the inevitability of it all, and even as the jokes kept on falling about how it would turn out (ie, like this) I think even the most hardened naysayer would have hoped for some deviation but here we are. You sell your best ever player, spend half of the money on Johnson, decide to only replace one centre back on the back of last season's sterling efforts and manage to sell two players in total (yes, one of them being that decent player we spoke about), despite all soundbites stressing how important sales were. I mean really take stock of what you've managed here, because I think, given we now actually bring in a bit of revenue, this may be your best effort yet dear Levy

Just how many transfer windows have you witnessed if this was the wankest? We’ve had plenty worse.
Disagree.. i mean i guess you could say summer 2018 when we signed nobody (a PL record)

Weve always had a marquee signing with past owners.

Its about making a statement and intent. Weve just lost our best ever player (who routinely mentioned our lack of ambition) struggled in the league and brought in another new manager

And what did we do?? Fuck all. Kane moneys nice though I guess

The owners are parasites. Couldnt even sell our deadwood.

So the window looks like this :

Vicario - First Team Goalkeeper looking far better than Lloris of the last couple of years,

Van de Ven - First Team LCB. Impressive speed and height amongst attributes he's brought with him. Already looking to form a good partnership with fellow CB Romero and GK Vicario

Maddison - First Team creative AM that we've missed for a couple of seasons, and will contribute 10+ goals a season plus assists.

Johnson - Will probably start as an alternative to Kulusevski and Richarlison, but IMO will become a regular starter certainly by Christmas. Fast two footed and can probably contribute 10_ goals and assists a season

Solomon - Yet to see where he really fits in but clearly able to play as right or left winger, and adds good depth

Veliz - A striker for the future by the looks of it aged 19.

Phillips - A CB for the future, just called up for E u19's and has played a couple of games for Spurs u21's. Tall solid mobile defender.

So that's three good players who have already established themselves in the first team, already, in positions that were a 'must fill' before the window opened and have been, with Johnson likely to become a fourth First Team regular this season, and Solomon .likely to add depth to the bench

Its not that common to bring in 3 first teamers - so that's a big positive.

I think both fans and club would have liked to move on more of our unwanted players - but most of them have declined opportunities to do so which is a shame. And that in turn is why Van de Ven's arrival has meant Dier and Sanchez are now firmly on the bench as back up, but neither were happy to move to a different club and allow Spurs to recruit CB's better suited to Angeball.

And that gives us with this likely squad until 1 January :

GK - Vicario/Forster/Austin
RB - Porro/Royal
CB - Romero/VDV/Sanchez/Dier
LB - Udogie/Davies/Sessegnon
CM 1 - Bissouma/Hojbjerg
CM2 - Sarr/Skipp/Bentancur
CM3 - Maddison/Lo Celso
RW - Kulusevski/Johnson
LW - Son/Perisic/Solomon/Gil
CF - Richarlison

Left out of Registered Squad - Lloris, Whiteman, Ndombele
(although some Windows such as Turkey are still open to receive players)

So the window is certainly worth a good 7 out of 10. for bringing in good first team additions.
Great post.

Levy could just say fuck 'em and let them rot for a year. Costs us the same either way.

Lloris and Dier might think they are being clever trying to get a big signing-on bonus as a free agent but how many clubs are going to them if they've not played competive football for a year? They might even go as far as being banned from the training ground.
You can ask them to train separately from the 1st team squad. That might happen, all depends on how Ange wants to play it.

It will be very interesting to see who is on the bench tomorrow.

I don’t care about “marquee” signings. I care about effective additions. Maddison and VDV look to fit that bill and both Udogie and Sarr weren’t marquee but look like the real deal. He closest to marquee we’ve gotten recently is Tanguy and Richy.

Give me more of effective, right players than marquee any day.

You’ve got to laugh, otherwise you’ll cry!

Sad Kristen Bell GIF

So unless it's been done and not confirmed by the club that Hugo has had he's contract paid up he can't sign with anyone now until the new year? Unless Turkey etc

Get the banners out. Shit window. Despite the good signings. Lost our best ever player and still weak in so many areas. Fuck these owners.
I agree. I voted 1. Losing Kane is unforgivable as it could have been avoided had we not fucked up the last four or so years.

On top of that Sanchez will still play this season. For Spurs. If there is one injury to our first choice CBs, just one damn injury, then he could become first choice and play all season long. Imagine that. It’s criminal.

And we have no proper striker. I like richy but he is what he is. He is not deadly. He isn’t going to scare most top opposition or challenge for the golden boot, or probably even get 20 goals for us across all competitions. So not signing a striker who might is again, unacceptable, not least because we’ve known all of last season that Kane would go, so why oh why did we not line up suitable targets?

So 1, and I’m probably being too kind. We’ve made some good looking signings but in full context it is a terrible window.

Really felt like some of these guys took it personal that they’re not in Ange’s plans …

I think they think Levy is toxic.

They watched as Levy refused Harry permission time to say goodbye to the staff. Where hes been since a teenager.

and theyve fucked off the poison midget money grasping cunt in the only way they know.

can genuinely see that being the case.

You can’t ban a player from the training ground.
They are paid to train & be available for selection. You have to give them those facilities so they are available for selection.
We may as well just pay them off then have to allow them through the doors, to use the clubs facilities and medics/physios etc.
If you “ban” them from the training ground, you’re dismissing them anyway.
