Lloyd Kelly appears at least reading his profile big, quick and half decent on the ball, ie fits the profile for a high line. I don’t expect the guy to be Maldini just a solid backup.

While I wanted Gallagher who I rate, Kelly was a much more important transfer.

It's funny how people accepted the fact that our transfer strategy over the past few years has been shit and acknowledged that we had to use a different approach in the transfer market and since we know that we are being data driven fans are still perplexed why we are being linked with certain players.

It's why we were mentioned alongside Brighton's and Brentford's targets this window because they use exactly the same approach, the names might not be glitzy and glamorous but I'd rather this approach than the scattergun bullshit we used to do, at least everyone is on the same page, that's the most important thing.

Exactly. No point in just buying players for the sake of it anymore.

That being said, I think not getting CB cover was a fuck up and a big risk that hopefully doesn't bite us in the

The last few windows have made me feel like we will continue to build our squad smartly over the new few and with some academy players to come through in the next couple of years I think in the medium to long term things are going to be fun again.

I can do what I like. Both are valid criticisms / examples of the cancerous scum failing to back the manager
Agree. I didnt particulaly want Lloyd Kelly, the manager might have done. I bet he's more pissed off not getting another centre back than he would have been signing Kelly.

Kelly, Chalobah and Tosin are very modest targets, we're not talking Skriniar and Gvardiol here and yet we couldnt land 1 of them.

Need that DOF in and need to move early for targets in January, seems to be a right mess with Munn etc.

Part of me thinks some of the deadwood that has not gone, believes that Spurs can likely get back in to Europe this season, so better to stick around the fringe of a club that's going into Europe next season than a low tier club that's not likely to get into Europe.

Playing careers are short, better to be in the window of the regular European competition clubs especially towards the back end of careers or when out of favour, and hope an injury or bad form from another player gets you back into the spotlight.

Spurs have top tier facilities, pay good salaries and the players can just bide their time on the bench or the fringe picking up a salary, waiting for their chance to put themselves back in the shop window.

It sucks but thats the reality of paying good salaries for subpar players, makes it very hard to offload them especially if they have some crazy sense of self worth

One was far too expensive, another was at Chelsea and the other was a kid wanting guaranteed playing time...and we had players that didn't want to leave to make room for them.

Despite what Ange said about the elephant in the room, being that we needed another CB, I wonder if he cooled his desire a bit (until Jan) after seeing Ashley Phillips play in training. The kid looks far more ready for the step up than I expected.

Then you pay, the club shouldn’t have allowed themselves to get in that position in the first place. As for the squad you make room by not registering, we don’t have to offer Dier a role, we only have to pay his wages.

I think they assumed they would be getting a transfer fee for João Felix and Carrasco and neither happened.
According to Fabrizio they got €15m for Carrasco. And although this may be wrong it says here Barca have to pay Atleti €7m for a loan deal.
