Everton lost 2-1 to salford. Only a friendly but thats an embarrassing result. Think them and brighton could be in trouble next season. Everton home game should be 3 points. Tough away games though newcastle and united.
They are certain to go down. I think there’s a fair chance it happens via administration let alone the fact they have an awful side

Interestingly City are 14/1 to go down, Goons, Utd etc are 1000/1

Big trouble everton on and off pitch if they go down. Bit strange theyre building new stadium if theyre skint. Unless the council is paying for it. Same applies to barcelona, skint but spending a billion on new stadium.

What makes you think Brighton are in trouble? They smashed Kashima Antlers (who are 1 place above Vissel Kobe in the J-league) 5-1 a few days ago and looked very impressive at creating attacks.

Yes - shite for us because we extended his contract. Why the F did we do that? That’s not part of deal the Girona - that is a complete own goal.

There may have been several LaLiga that wanted a loan with an option. I would be shocked if any teams actually wanted him on a permanent.

So there are literally no buyers for Gil and he is signed for TWO more season so why did we extend and agreed to pay Gil wages for three. Why?

If Gil defies expectations and tears it up at Girona, we could still have sold him next summer under the old contract. But now if as expected, he shows little to nothing then we’re stuck with him for 2 more years next summer instead of 1. WTF.
There’s almost no risk to Spurs though. It’s clear the worst that can happen is we just loan him out again for the extra year. There are quite a few Spanish clubs who seem willing to take him on.

The best that can happen is that he’s good for Girona and his stock goes up. Girona are a team in the champion’s league for the first time so have a lot of games and have a smallish squad. It’s likely he will get significant minutes.

Extending his contract for a year is smart because a player’s value goes down a lot when they just have a year left. The extension means we avoid this situation.

So what Spurs did is the smartest business decision, but I still reckon the most likely scenario is that he’s underwhelming and we just have to give him away.

I don’t watch La Liga at all and it seems as if you do.
How many games is Gil going to get for a genuine CL team to ‘showcase his talent’ so we can sell at the end of the year?

I’m not claiming to be an expert but unless they sign another left footer, he’s replacing Savinho who just went to City.

Giróna are a CFG farm team. Getting CL was a great bonus but they probably won’t be investing large sums to try any be super competitive in the CL
