if the two players are Eze and Neto then I won't be massively overwhelmed, more cautious.
I think both walk into our starting eleven.

Fitness issues are the concern though, I agree. Especially as together they'd cost about £130,000, 000

One thing that can't be disputed by anyone is that if we sign Neto and Eze for 60m and 50m plus wages, Ange has been backed. At least to a similar level to Arteta has been at those cunts down the road.

Outside of getting spun by our new signing, thought Emerson played well. Made a couple nice interceptions.
Who thought we'd be in a world where both Emerson AND Spence each staked a claim to be kept!!

He's a perfectly useful defender just don't ask him to bring the ball out of his own half. He'd work great in the correct system . Good height for an orthodox fullback. If he wasn't Brazilian he'd be rated.
Didn't that used to be the other way round....?
JUST 'cos they were Brazilian, everyone thought they'd be fantastic!!
Gomes... Moura... Paulinho!
I swear we were blinded by the yellow shirt sometimes!

Eze all day... (Plus haven't Palace just bought a winger?)🤔

Neto's fitness won't last 5 minutes under Ange's training regime!

Frustrating.

But meh. If Ange wants him, you've got to back him. We're not exactly poor. He has the perfect profile for what we need, just has the injury problems.

I would just hope there's due diligence when it comes to payment structure and Netos gametime.

The price is the price I guess.

But we're gonna be riding a quest of a wave until the injuries start to hit which is inevitable and that's when people will call the signing into question, and rightly so.

I think a lot of this depends on whether Richy stays (and likewise if Toney stays at Brentford)

If we don't go for Toney, I imagine we'll keep Richy and go all out for Eze...
If Richy goes (for anywhere NEAR £60m) then we might also go in for Neto...

But yes, his injury record is a concern!
We've got enough of those already!! Don't need to spend even MORE just to fill the treatment room!

I’m personally completely unconvinced that Neto is actually good enough even if he had a perfect fitness record. He’s got like one move, run as fast as he can and float cross to the back post. Not a great passer. Doesn’t finish anything.

He has 3 PL goals since the pandemic FFS. THREE.

We really shouldn't be caring what other players' output is for other teams coached by a different coach playing a different system.

But care more about what a player can bring to our team in terms of his profile and skilset

Is he a 1 v 1 specialist?
Can he keep hold of the ball when needed?
Can he create?

Buying a player off their base statistics is always a risky move without looking at other metrics.

Otherwise you could have ended up with 17 Prem goal season Patrick Bamford or a Dominic Calvert-Lewin once upon a time.

Neto, on form and fit, is one of the best wingers in the Premier League.

The issue is, his fitness issues (played the equivalent of about 36 games in 3 years), his off the ball work which if trained into him requires a hell of a lot of work each game putting strain on his body and the price the quoted when factoring that in
