So 48 hours after people were worried we might never make another signing ( Jarritos Jarritos - it’s like 2018 all over again!) … and 12 hours after people were in awe at West Ham… we spend 60m.

Anyone want to bet against more significant spending?

I know it’s considered poor form to hope for a big name signing and, instead, we need to demonstrate a sort of restrained wisdom about procuring the right player for the right position but, fuck it.

I’d love to see us go get a big name, even if only on loan. Chiesa, Raphina etc. Someone exciting.

Getting excited about your team signing an established player is part of the fun.
I'm hoping for the Japanese Messi from Sociedad.

A good player ho doubt but would be a squad filler for us which is what we don't want it need.

I don’t know enough about Summerville to judge him but just because a player comes from a lower level doesn’t make them a lesser player. Dele came from two leagues down and went straight into the starting XI. A good player is a good player.

We have missed out on players like Bowen, Grealish and Eze in the past because of a snooty attitude both within the club and the fan base.

I'd actually like Madueke, he's not the finished product be he can definitely beat players 1-on-1, plus he's club trained. Doubt they'd sell him for a reasonable fee.
Madueke is not club trained - left to go to Netherlands after declining a Spurs scholarship aged 16
From what I can work out, Madueke is not even association trained for UEFA.

You need 3 years from the start of the season you turn 15 to the end of the season you turn 21 at an English club.
He was with us 16/17 and 17/18 before he left us and then joined Chavs in January of the season he turned 21 so only got another 6 months.

I think he has to count as overseas for UEFA.

Summerville really hasn't been much better than Jack Clarke in the Championship. I'm not sure many would have been pulling their hair out if Clarke was the one in the West Ham shirt.
