Prick answer to be honest.
He main position is clearly CB but didn’t he play LB when udogie was injured last season for the last 2 games and our performances significantly improved

He’s our second best CB and possibly the most important position in our team for recovery pace.

Move him to LB and you get a double negative because he’s not as good as Udogie for inverted FB plus you are missing one if your most important pieces at CB.

It’s anti logic

No Coman would be a panic move because of his age and profile plus the fact that it's pretty clear that Bayern want to shift him. Similar to Chiesa.

They are both the opposite end of the spectrum in terms of profile that we have been looking at.
I think the ages of Coman and Chiesa are what we should be going for.

We have Johnson, Moore and Yang who are young players, even kulu won't be 25 til next year.

We aren’t the Netherlands
Not sure I understand the point. He is a better fit for CB in our system. There is no doubt about that. BUT, if the best we can do is play him at LB for whatever reason then he will fill a gap at least as well as pretty much anyone else in the team. I actually think he fulfils at least 2 parts of the role of our full backs admirably. He can defend very bloody well, as we know. He can also show up around the box and make the runs that aren't being covered. I don't think he's an 8 in any sense of the term. However, it isn't a completely ridiculous scenario for him to play our LB role in a pinch.

And Kulu filled in as our striker when we were ravaged by injuries, but it doesn't mean that it is an optimal situation nor were we significantly improved solely because VDV filled in that role.
I think the point is that they can cover the role until we find the right player(s) to challenge for the starting spot.

Kulu did that, and now we hope that Solanke has fulfilled that remit up front. VDV or Spence can do the same on the left, until we get the right player, so it's maybe not seen as urgent a need as some on here believe it is.

Opinions again.

There's a difference between filling a role and filling it with the right player. Even if we do have a player in mind, they've got to want to come to us.

There are far more moving parts than just "pay the money."

This is where I think the AP mentality is extremely important. Speak to a manager who utterly believes he will win the league, then tells you the plan he has to do so, will go a long way to convincing a player to want to play for you.

The struggle we currently have is that we're aspiring to a level where you have other managers with the same goals and plans, but backed by a recent history of having done so.

Put the Levy fan on ignore. It's a waste of tike arguing.
This is a prime example of what I mean by dumbing down.
We have 2 posters, discussing a topic in a reasonable way, then this one pipes up with "ignore it" because he doesn't like the fact that there are equally valid but opposing arguments to what he believes.

We only grow if we question our own beliefs regularly. Ignoring a challenge to those beliefs, or shouting them down, is on a par with religious dogma or flat earthing.

My fault for getting drawn into an off-topic subject and trying to argue in good faith with actual data.
I won’t let it happen again.
