So wait, Hercules post about how if Neto didn’t happen we’re “ready to press the button on a much easier to do deal”, and we “won’t be dissapointed” isn’t coming true? :angeshock:

Wow if this carries on people are going to start thinking he’s just making it up for donations…

I don’t want another Winks!
Confused Gary Coleman GIF

Imagine selling your marquee player and replacing him in the same window. Wonder what that feels like.

We signed our replacement a full year before we sold him

Bournemouth dropping 50m on a single transfer but Levy still thinks 60m is a marquee signing.

Feels like you mis-quoting stats to fit an agenda. The article you quoted says €47 million not £.

BBC Sport quoting - Bournemouth will pay 37m euros (£31.67m), with the potential for another 10m euros (£8.56m) should certain clauses be met.

Most sources quoting £65 million for Solanke and somehow you got to comparing the two as 50 and 60 million.

Lastly no said Solanke was marquee except you.

They call Lucas Bergvall "a forgotten star"

That interview with Martin Aslund is nothing if not incoherent:

I think he will be a very good national team player," said Aslund in a recent interview with Nyheter 24. "I think he ends up in a top team in the Benelux. Will he replace James Maddison at Tottenham? I hope I’m wrong and that he does, but I don’t think so.

"People take what I say the wrong way. Lucas is an incredible footballer. If you see how Bergvall plays football, he is an opportunist, he often does the difficult things. If you’re going to play in the Premier League and have that role, you have to check which other players have it.

"How many Swedish players have that role? There are extremely few, so then Lucas Bergvall must become one of the best players in Swedish history. Am I sure he will be? No, I don’t think so."

"I think he's going to be great, but he's probably not going to be great, but yep definitely going to be great, to be honest I don't think he's going to be great."

Thanks for clearing that up you mumbling old fart.

Something that was always a big risk if we didn't act quickly.

This has been playing out in such a similar way to grealish
Not really: Grealish was there for the taking coz Villa badly needed money and had basically accepted the £25m bid.... but then Levy & Lewis - surprise, surprise! - decided to wait so they could get an even lower price for him - and, while L & L were taking their time, Villa got new owners and didn't need the money from sales...

All true

I meant more in the way that for both players, we've been in for them long term before their stock was sky high (e.g. we had interest when eze was at qpr).

It's been clear for a long while that eze is very good English talent but we've never made the jump.

Why we've prioritised brennan johnson for 50 million rather than eze for 60-70 million is beyond me.

Like maddison, eze is an obvious "win". He's near certain to do well unlike ndombeles, lo celsos
