He'll tear it up with them. I really hope they don't get him.
Nah.

He will have good games and games where the physicality and intensity means the game passes him by.

He had a few minutes at the Euros where he looked explosive but mostly games passed him by. The Prem is 20x faster and more intense than the Euros. The way Bournemouth play for example, Chiesa isn’t playing 90mins against that. Let alone Man City or Villa/Newcastle

Yeah, a couple of the Japanese players he brought to Celtic, Maeda and Iwata.

I thought we might have gone for O'Riley, because Scotland or not, he's a very good player. I've watched him week after week and he's a clear step above that league, similar to how VVD was. He impressed Simeone in the UCL as well, so much so that Atletico bid 20 mil for him in January.

To be fair though, his best position is where Madders plays, so maybe it has something to do with us being fairly well stocked in that area with him, Kulu and Bergval as options.
I mostly agree. O'Riley is an excellent player. We were probably too well stocked in that area, as you say

yep I really rate him. A team like Liverpool(or us tbh) would suit his style of play very well.
Nunes would be perfect for us.

I can see why we won’t do it though. Not because he’s not good or wouldn’t improve our squad but because they are committed to the squad build this way and clearly think Bergvall and Gray are good enough.

They are young so people naturally doubt them because they haven’t proved it in the Prem but if Ange and the club decided to trust them I get it

Liverpool's top scoring 4 forwards scored 46 (55 if you add Diaz) and 26 assists (31 with Diaz).

Our top scoring 4 forwards scored 41 (43 inc Werner) and 27 assists (30 with Werner)
Salah starts every game. Chiesa will rotate with Diaz off the left. Diaz will win that battle because he can physically handle the Prem.

Forget goals and assists, a better comparison is which Spurs forwards Chiesa can start more games than other than Son and Solanke.

If I’m guessing, Johnson and Odobert start way more than Chiesa but Richarlison and Chiesa might end the season with a similar number of starts

Good player but never seemed like a Pep player, more a maverick ball carrier. Was decent for Wolves.

Don’t get that why it’s a panic buy for them yet some on here said we should have gone in for him.
It's a panic buy because he's been legs wide open and begging for it all summer. Liverpool, like everyone else, spent most of the transfer window walking straight past him and going back to the pool table with their mates. Only now the transfer window is getting late, beer #8 is starting to work it's magic and none of the other text messages saying "hey, you up" have garnered any form of response.

Based on him being a better player than the attackers we have.

Jota will as well, obviously. Nunez won’t this season due to not suiting slot-ball.

But I’m happy to put money where the mouth is, I’m already being charitable with wills money so embarrassing more of the delulu brigade will be brilliant.

Mate, I'm just trying to understand where you're basing these assumptions on.

Jota and Diaz are better players than Johnson and neither got more goals and assists than him last season.

In fact, not a single Liverpool player got more assists than Johnson last season.

Will he get the same output this season. No idea. But your assumptions are based in less reality than mine considering you're talking about a player you've never seen play in the prem, under a manager that has never managed in the prem.

Prem proven is a lie and Johnson had some insanely flattering numbers last season which are unlikely to happen again.

Not arguing that they didn't collectively score more but factually speaking apart from Salah and Nunez, individual player contributions were less for their other forwards than most of ours. It doesn't mean our players are better, I'm just stating facts.
