If that's what he's being signed for then it will either be massive for, or massive against Mainoo's development. No in between.

I think for Mainoo. Mainoo is brilliant on the ball, strong and clever but he does gas a lot towards the end of games. Having someone next to him to do the workload could be a huge benefit. Mainoo and Ugarte could be a very balanced CM pair.

Read a few days ago were linked with ex chelsea defender christiansen. Worth a punt if on a free. Him and Dragusin can play europa games.

"Hey man how would you like to leave Barcelona playing in the CL to come sit on the bench at Tottenham to play EL football"

not today no GIF by Shalita Grant

Could've given him a contract and an extended loan in Europe. Hard to believe he didn't show similar qualities at that age as he did today. Hindsight 20-20 but this seems as bad as Chelsea doing nothing to retain Salah
Madueke and Salah are 2 vastly different cases so they can't be compared.
Spurs did indeed want to extend the Madueke contract, and back then clubs like Man Utd and Woolwich also are said to have offered him a "good" contract - but he wanted 1st team football at 16, and he did not want to be loaned out (otherwise he would have signed the contract Spurs wanted him to sign).
Salah was 22 when he arrived at Chelski and had proven himself at Al Mokawloon and Basel (he played very well when Spurs faced Basel), and spent 2 years at Chelski, mainly being loaned out (to Seri A clubs).
So while Madueke was wanted at Spurs, Salah was seen as expendable at Chelski

Madueke also isn't anywhere near the same level as Mo Salah.

He's good don't get me wrong but Salah is an all-timer in the Premier League era.

Said it from day dot… One big money signing - Solanke and a few signings with potential ! I was bang on. For a “big club” it’s not enough is it?

20+ years of lacking ambition
