The Premier League is a much better level than anything Gyokeres has played at though and he couldn't get a sniff at it when he was at Brighton and the same age as Ferguson...

For sure it is.

Ferguson may end up the better player too but I think if Gyokeres moved back to Brighton for next season, he would be starting every game.

Ferguson may also never have a 20 league goal season, in any league. There is nothing YET to show that he's prolific when it comes to being in the right place for chances, or clinical when he gets them. He's young so there is time but right now Gyokeres has clearly overtaken him... for now.

Edit: FWIW I'm not pulling for either of them to come to Spurs.

The Ferguson hype is insane and I say this as an Irishman. He’s good but he’ll be closer to Kevin Davies than Harry Kane.

That’s fine, he’s a good player, they hype is completely unjustified

I agree. It’s the same with every young player nowadays. The boy Gray is getting touted as Jesus because he’s had a very good game against Chelsea’s and big price tag will be put on his head. I watched him last week against Leicester and for 70 mins he wasn’t in the game at all. Ferguson is decent but not this 25 goals a season in prem striker that some think he is. He’s a long way off that. If there’s a choice of either Gyokeres now or Ferguson now Gyokeres wins hands down. He’s scored more than 60 goals in less than 2 seasons. That’s impressive because the championship can be a tough league for strikers and he’s also scoring against the likes of Benfica and Porto.

Hardly anybody is a 25 goal a season player in the prem lg. Haaland, Salah, Kane,
Kane averaged 23 PL goals a season for 9 seasons. Not many get 20 .

^^^^^^^^THIS 100%

- EPL STs with 20 or more goals (past 10 years):

22/23: Haaland, Kane, Toney
21/22: Son, Salah
20/21: Kane, Salah
19/20: Vardy, PEA, Ings, Sterling
18/19: Salah, Mane, PEA, Aguero
17/18: Salah, Kane, Aguero, Vardy
16/17: Kane, Lukaku, A.Sanchez, Costa, Aguero
15/16: Kane, Aguero, Vardy
14/15: Aguero, Kane, Costa
13/14: Suarez, Sturridge, Y.Toure

……Only 17 players in 10 years!!!

- Only 5 players hit more than 25:

Haaland (36)
Salah (32)
Suarez (31)
Kane (30 x 2 / 29 x 1)
Aguero (26)

Rabiot linked again

Is that about 10 years now we're supposed to be signing Rabiot?

one minute.

Which is about the average time he's played if you divide total playing time by number of Spurs matches since he's been signed (irrespective of whether he's played or not).

Question was "where is he?"......

I answered.

Look; I rate Eze and and am frustrated by GLC's lack of sustained fitness; but let's not pretend that Eze (and Olise & Neto) doesn't have his own injury question marks.

Go and watch Gyokeres and you’ll see he’s on a different level to Brereton Diaz. His whole game is classier, smoother, better finisher and moves better. The asking price will be well over the top so likely it won’t happen but as we won’t be going in for any of the so called big guns then this type of player is maybe what we are looking at. We have been linked with Giminez at Feyenoord and if it was a choice between him and Gyokeres then the Swede is a far better option.
People don't actually read what you write...just what they think you did. When did that become a thing. OK Starks Starks nicoclaesen I said his trajectory reminds me of Diaz. It's obvious Gyokeres is a better footballer. Is he good enough to be an elite EPL striker ( maybe) I have my doubts and I'm not sure I want us to be the laboratory where we find out. Not at the prices CP want.
