We need a top striker. No risk hoping it will come good striker. A top striker guaranteed to slot in. Veliz will come good and good as back up. But we need to replace kane.

Not sure if we do tbh

This system will create chances regardless and Son is more than good enough to play up top.

Next stage for this team is to sort the priority positions (wings and 6)

Because like I have been saying providing competition to Maddison won't be the difference in whether we win or not.

I bought up those examples because those no10's don't really have competition and you have said that he's better than those players so he's more than good enough in that case?

KDB has Foden and Bernardo that can play 10.

10 is very system dependent. Szobo isn’t even a 10 for Klopp because he doesn’t play that way, he’s an 8

Obviously we're not going to be able to compete with City like that hence why I brought up Liverpool and Woolwich, they're competing with them on a sporting level but not on a financial level - the sporting level is where we need to get to so using the KDB/Foden/Silva thing an example is a bit pointless.

TBH We don't play with a 10 either, Maddison probably now plays in the same areas of the pitch as Odegaard and Szobo these sorts of players are pretty difficult to replace or copy because they do unique jobs on the pitch and they're so good at it.

Rather than wasting time sourcing competition for Maddison we have other pressing areas that need looking at that, we need to address those as a priority.

EDIT: This is your Madders comp:

If Bergvall is then great but we need to be able to win a good chunk of games when a Maddison isn’t available in form

Can see the club looking at FSG's way of doing things, Liverpool's academy churn out good players and those players are able to step up. Obviously Klopp has been there for 8 years so everyone is in tune with his demands and expectations so those young players come in and have the mentality and ability to provide competition for the first teamers.

Club will need to get the balance right because you can't rely on your academy, we obviously still need to buy but we really need to start using these boys at some point otherwise what's the point?

What has their academy really produced? TAA and some makeshift pieces that don’t play unless someone is injured? Maybe Jones

Jones is the only one that’s really certain and is he really a starting quality player for them?

Bradley and Quansah had a decent start KWP had a prem hatrick for us before he didn’t make it here. For Quansah see how much hope there was for Tanganga when he first came through for Jose

Jones is a good player who can step in and the manager can trust that's the point and tbh he's started a lot of games for them this season when he's been fit which is exactly what we need.

Quansah and Bradley are quality, Quansah is close to that England squad, far closer than Tanganga ever was.

KWP would have been good enough if we didn't mis-manage him and didn't change manager principals

Antonee Robinson is homegrown. Easily my number one pick for Udogie competition next season

Edit: I will say, he is a different profile to Destiny and I believe he would be an excellent overlapping fullback rather than inverting, but of course this would give us more flexibility provided both players are fit

Buy some experience please, thanks.

I can’t help but think us losing Perisic all season has cost us a few points here and there. We need more know how and guile in the squad. Remember naybet and Davids and what they did to the team. Another one of those signings could really help this squad.

In Lisbon and went to Sporting last night, won 6-1. Opposition were shit but Gyokeres scored 3 and set 1 up. Good touch, should be on our radar. More potential than Richy

KWP was given several chances and each time he looked weak defensively (commonly acknowledged by those who saw those games).
Some players can't take the pressure playing for a big club (like Spurs). Both Pochettino and Jose did not consider him 1st team material. Yes, he's improved since then but it's too easy to just blame the management. He simply wasn't good enough back then and I can't see him challenge Porro for the 1st team spot now.

1) He wasn't good enough but he should have been sent out on loan so he could improve

2) He's improved since we sold him 4 years ago, he's a far better player than he was.
