When he and Kulusevski first turned up they were both very good. Not sure what happened to them.

Purple patch. Tactics suited them as well but the whole team had a period of playing above their abilities.

Bentancur>Kulu as he is genuinely a useful player who we should keep, but there’s a reason Juve were happy to get rid of both on cut price deals.

Kulu had a purple patch 6 months and steadily got worse but there is a player in there - he doesn't fit this system because he's not a good 1v1 player and he needs an overlap.

Bentancur got injured, ACL isn't easy to come back from - I don't know where this revisonim is coming from saying he's average - he's a good player.

Have you watched Onana enough to be sure he hasn't been jogged past a couple of times?

Nobody scrutinizes a player as much as their own fans.
Yes, next?

As for fans they're a useful barometer but not the be all, particularly when their team plays a different style. As someone mentioned earlier Ajax fans were happy to sell Kudus last summer, look how dumb that turned out to be.
Those stats are a full season and a season where Bissouma caught Malaria and had a crisis of confidence after allowing yellow and red cards to sabotage him. The 2 red cards were totally bogus if you look at what the officials had called since.
Cool and what about the previous year? How many nonsense excuses are we gonna give this guy? I want Bissouma to be the solution as much as anyone but ultimately he's been shite for 95% of his games here, having been notoriously inconsistent for Brighton beforehand. Eventually people just have to accept this is probably the player he is and not the guy we saw for 10 games in August.

And as for his two reds, please. Delusional talk. Forest he took someone studs up on the knee and Luton he has nobody to blame but himself for that embarrassing dive. And he picked up plenty of other dumb yellows throughout the season.

Nah

You started by saying you have watched every Everton game this season to know that Onana hasn't let anyone jog past him. Not even Everton fans have done that.

shite for 95% of his games this season? stop being such a drama queen.

Injuries shouldn’t make you misplace 10 yard passes though

Rhythm and form make you misplace those.

Getting those back after a long term injury doesn't happen overnight. We were told last year after his injury not to expect much from Bentancur this season. IMO he has over delivered on that. City game and Villa at home before Cashcunt were flashbacks of who the player is but not the full form.

Someone should tell Maddison. Or Kane whenever he did his ankles and was shit for 2 months after coming back.

Kane didn't play CM.

And he was able to finish but his overall play was regularly ghosting a but when coming back from the long term ankle.

What Maddison and Bentancur could do is talk to Kane about how he made his ankles stronger so the hacks didn't injure him as badly after the first big one.

Ah you're one of those who makes up things people say to win a point. I never said I'd seen all his games, but I've seen enough to get a solid picture.

I really thought they were both going to be real quality for us. But then again GLC was good when he first arrived.

Apart from our defenders we're a fairly ordinary team altogether. Even Maddison is inconsistent

We need a Modric/Bale/Berbatov/Kane level player to improve.

Even before ENIC we generally had a proper star player in attack such as Gazza, Ginola, Klinsman ... I can't see Levy splashing out £100m, so we need to find someone on the cheap, I just don't see it happening.

And if you think Bissouma has been good this season bar those initial 10 games I dont think we're gonna get very far with this conversation and should just leave it there.
You said you'd seen enough to say that he's never been jogged past, right?

I took that to mean you'd seen every game. Did you watch the game they lost 5-0 to Woolwich and Dyche yanked him at HT?

I think Bissouma was incredible the first 10 games and before this last knock he was very good for 3-4 games. 14 games from 28 is not exactly "shite for 95% of games" is it?

Bissouma needs to up his levels of discipline and get some more fuckoffness in his attitude to being sabotaged by stupid officials. We need to push him with a young ambitious kid like Gray, not spend 50m replacing him with a possibly (most likely) inferior player.

If we were talking Ugarte I could see it differently but he's not coming here for the wages we offer.
And centre midfielders get more grief, bordering on naked hatred at times, than players in any other position.

You know damn well that after Ugarte's second 6.5/10 game (inevitably described as "beyond woeful", "worst I've ever seen" and so on) that the usual suspects will be screaming to get rid, howling with rage at Ange, Paratici, our scouts, Levy and the rest and demanding that we sign the latest centre midfielder who has just had a 7/10 game.
