That’s my question with Alvarez. Do we start him as a #9? Does that really give us any more presence or threat than Son?
He definitely won’t score as many goals as Son.

I don’t think he’s a winger in this system and I don’t want him as a #10.

Tbh I can see why City are happy to sell him.

This guy isn’t leading any lines as a striker. He’s a secondary attacking player.

Spot on, my man.

Even if they said 70-80 mil - I reckon that's his market value - we got the dosh...and some.

Also, Romero would have a volcanorgasm seeing his Argie pal come to the Lane.

But...I personally reckon he's off to Barca. They need their statement signing after Real got Mbappe. Lewa is getting old, they don't trust Ferran that much...and perhaps Pep will be back at the helm after next season. Yeah but Barca have no cash, no? Bollocks! That mafia of a club always finds a new stash of cash.

If it ain't Barca, it'll be Bayern...maybe a kinda part exchange with Musiala.
Barca have a load of Nike money, more levers

City don’t sell good players. Palmer is the only one I can think of.

They’ll bump Alvarez’s salary and loan him out abroad.

Alvarez is a quality player but he's not physically imposing. He would basically be like an upgrade on Sonny at striker (better linkup play, doesn't completely ghost when physically outmatched, etc.) but with way worse finishing. Would prefer to go for someone like Gyokeres instead but I'd be happy with Alvarez as well.
