Honestly we really need better depth- we were on a tear until we got hit with the run of injuries and suspensions. With more quality depth in attack and CB/FB, who knows what we could have achieved last season?

This year with Europe there’ll be plenty more games to play too. I’m cool with simply having more depth. Not being able to find a decent sub on the bench should not be a problem we have too often. It was a huge problem this past season.
A lot of the young players need to step up this season. Having a full pre season under Ange will have some of them improve enough to get more minutes. Phillips, Dorrington, Donley, Moore, Hall, should all get game time. Maybe Scarlett, Veliz or Lankshear could be the 3rd striker.

Olise needs to be a little careful here. I think Maresca's a 433 guy, which means not only Madueke but also Palmer are potentially in his position. Maybe Maresca will change and play a format with an ACM (Palmer) like Poch eventually stumbled into, but if he doesn't then Olise might not get all the game time he wants.

Sounds like Chelsea may look to throw Madueke into the Olise deal.

Unless you're Maddison.

The guy missed two and a half months and only three players were fouled more than him all season.

Yes, only Ayew drew more fouls per minute:

Second most fouled player across the whole PL per minute played:

(players fouled more than 50 times)
(surprised to see Saka so far down the list)

I would view relegation as failure and winning promotion as success. That’s how it works. Sport has winners and losers. It’s the whole point.

The cold hard truth as you like to say.
It's also a cold hard truth that we used to regularly win major trophies and were the 4th most successful club in English Football at the turn of the century.
That all changed with ENIC.

An ever expanding non football entertainment and property portfolio in exchange for an empty, dust collecting trophy cabinet.

In Levy's own words, he's not "particularly interested in football, it's purely financial "

Oh, and yes the WHOLE POINT of using Coventry was to show the absurdity of using trophies as the sole metric for success. It rules out 98% of the football pyramid. Well done for understanding - argumentation is a universal language.
Utter nonsense. Every club throughout the pyramid will view success by winning at their level. For Barnet, success isn't winning the Premier league, it's gaining promotion to the football league or winning the FA Trophy.

Spurs are a BIG 6 club, and before the formation of the Premier League , a BIG 5 club

Success at a big club such as Tottenham Hotspur should always be gauged on what the club wins and how we compete against our PEERS. ...Not how we compete against the other 98% of the pyramid.

You may be happy to accept mediocrity and belittle your own club, but show some respect and quit expecting the rest of the fan base to act the same way, yeah. 👍

Seems they and us might have a problem signing him for his release clause.

Olise is believed to have a £60m release clause in his Crystal Palace contract but Chelsea may not be able to activate it as it only applies to clubs who have qualified for the Champions League. (Times - subscription required)

On your vision, if we had been relegated in 2020 and 2021 to League 1 and then been promoted in 2022 and 2023 and now finished 15th last season, we’d have seen more success in the past five years.

For me it would be abject failure and miserable decline and I’d have been Levy out in 2020.

Your view is insane to most fans.

We'd have had more fun and paid lower ticket prices

And yes, from the perspective of winning being success, we'd have had more success.

I don't think I speak for most fans but I know you don't.
