They've cooked the books with some in house property sales sure - these clubs never get punished just the Forests and Evertons of this world do.

2 problems with this. Used us to get a new contract at Villa and from that moment on, was absolutely useless as a PL forward.
Yeah but he'll be cheap

Luvvly Jubbly

Because Chelsea, City, Newcastle, even Villa, will find a way around the rules to get the success they want.
Levy hides behind the rules to get out of ever going balls deep on winning anything.
Villa and Newcastle lol
What success have they went balls deep to get? One is selling their best midfielder to avoid sanctions the other just got Lloyd Kelly on a free ffs
Our squad is already better than both.

So after a month of no transfer news the pattern in here is quite simple.

Links to players are equally tenuous and for sure we all know that we are pretty tight lipped about our transfers recently.

Get linked to someone average:

Same ol' people moan and make the same identical comments about Levy blah blah blah.

Get linked to someone decent:

Those same posters are silent and completely ignore it.

It's like these posters just live to complain.

So I was wondering how about they actually put their balls on the line for once and tell us:

The kind of player profile they think we need and the actual players they think we should sign that would fit that profile?

It would be great to actually hear something different from said posters that isn't just the same comment rehashed over and over again.

Anyone heard much about the fragrant , benevolent Joe Lewis lately , have not seen him mentioned much in the press since he pled guilty .
It’s normally about this time a false rumour is spread about him pumping money into the club for transfers
EDIT

Yes I‘m aware he has allegedly removed himself from the club ownership 😃

Newcastle are the richest club in the world but currently restrained by FFP. When they figure out ways to circumvent (not if, when) they will spend heavily.
Villa are currently also being held back by FFP and in response, have issued legal proceedings against the PL claiming the PS&R's are unfair and anti competitive.

So City and Chelsea are already finding ways around the rules to do what they want. Newcastle are primed and ready for it, and Villa are trying to get the rules removed entirely.

Meanwhile. Levy sits back and claims the excess spending won't last and eventually we'll be in a strong position.
Spoiler - we won't.

Links are links. They're best ignored whether it's a good player or bad player. There's people out there that make a lot of money by creating false news in the football market. Bookies, agents, aggregators, media outlets, Twatteratti etc.

Utter nonsense. Every club throughout the pyramid will view success by winning at their level. For Barnet, success isn't winning the Premier league, it's gaining promotion to the football league or winning the FA Trophy.

Spurs are a BIG 6 club, and before the formation of the Premier League , a BIG 5 club

Success at a big club such as Tottenham Hotspur should always be gauged on what the club wins and how we compete against our PEERS. ...Not how we compete against the other 98% of the pyramid.

You may be happy to accept mediocrity and belittle your own club, but show some respect and quit expecting the rest of the fan base to act the same way, yeah. 👍
You need to read the argument in front of you instead of just repeating the same narrative like a demented parrot.

I am not comparing our success against Coventry. Success for most teams is measured as progress. For example, if Villa make the CL QF, reach the fa cup semi final and finish 4th again then that would be success, even without winning anything.

Ironically you’re the one making unrealistic comparisons between clubs. Why should our success be judged on how well we compete with a cheating, big spending team like Manchester City? That’s the unrealistic part.

Historically we’re about as successful as Everton. They’re our closest rivals for trophies. We’re nowhere near the biggest clubs historically and over the past 15 years, the biggest clubs have been nowhere near City and Chelsea.

You are banging on about before the PL like it’s still relevant. Guess what John?

The world has moved on in 35 years. It’s time you did too.

Agree... hence why I'm kinda pushing back on the drama and repetitive jokes/outrage every time some random nobody tweets that we are looking at Tammy Abraham or similar nonsense.
