How Dry should our Powder be?

We're not going to bring in 6-7 players of that value in a single window, and expecting them to gel and challenge in their first season is a bit Unicorns and Rainbows.

My expectations would be 3 players of that higher quality, for midfield & frontline, with a couple of astute punts. All should be within our capabilities and not overly affect our future FFP wriggle room, particularly as we can expect our revenue to increase as well.

Other than Chelsea going mental over the last few windows, I can't recall anyone else topping a £200M nett spend in a single window, other than City last year.

If we bring in £80M, and spend £200M, that is easily within our capabilities, so 3 players in the £50-70M bracket, with a couple of £10-20M astute buys would be what I'd expect personally.

If we end up doing that then I’ll be pretty happy tbh.

I’m not expecting it

And yet everyone is happy with our back 5!

When Ange arrived we completely changed our style of football to one which was basically "we'll score more than they will". With that in mind, I'd be more concerned that we didn't score more goals than the low number of clean sheets. If you're going to play that kind of football, it's inevitable that you're going to let in a lot of goals (yet we actually didn't let in a lot more goals than the previous season, due to having better defenders now) - but we didn't score that many more goals. For that reason, I'm much happier with our defenders - it's going forward where we need to improve most.

Would need to be on the clubs books for 3 years before he turns 21, so nope.

Which is why it was smart of us to sign Bergvall the day before he turned 18.

Just turned 18 in March so it’s close no?

Is there wiggle room on the cut off date?

You wouldn't like Gallagher?

Got about as much chance of signing Gray as we do Nico Williams.

Don't know why yous do it to yourselves.

Leeds need to come up, if Rodon and Skipp can go the other way, they will take that deal.

If the cash for Gray is loaded more towards up front and the Rodon / Skipp spread they will favour that deal too. Their transfer debt is high for the next couple of years, some cash and players will really help them.

I think £40m for Gray with 30m for Rodon and Skipp + say £5-10m promotion payments to us and there is a deal there.

If they are in the hunt for a forward, Lankshear on loan could favour both parties as well.

I see it as a deal that could work for both clubs, however Skipp / Rodon might get more favourable offers from prem sides
