How Dry should our Powder be?

Squad game mate.

We've been crying out for quality off the bench so our levels don't drop when we make changes. We've wanted it so that key players have competition for their places. Their form or effort drops, they get dropped and left out if their replacement performs better.

We don't have to shoehorn every new buy into the first team, no matter what they cost, nor pass them up just because we have a good player in that position already.

Eze makes sense, because he'll push Maddison and vice versa. He also enables us to change tactics during a game, if we want some extra creativity on the pitch.

We're building a squad to challenge, not a first 11.

Have a lie down Shady.

Just because you lost the last argument, doesn't mean you need an equaliser or you're out.

Eh? I happily conceded the argument though.

Are you genuinely that offended I dared to disagree with you, we are allowed opposing opinions in this thread you know.

We're not all here to point score you know maybe you are...;)

And that is exactly why we should spend 60m on Eze.

All this back up talk is fear of success. We need every player pushing to start.

If it means we juggle it and spend 25m on David for the #9 but we can then get Eze and Kubo or another top talent in the forward areas, then that’s fine.

2 big problems:

Ange is Australian and that will always work against him for people that have decided it's the main reason we lose any game.

The Euros have actually been shit aside from a couple games and England are even shitter.

Bonus problem:

Lange doesn't feed the beast for leaking transfer business so there is fuck all to talk about.
What's the Euros being shit got to do with anything? I've really enjoyed it. And I could careless about England. We were not losing games back end of last season because Ange is Australian ( odd but it's you hiding behind nationality ) we were losing games because he kept picking woefully out of form players. It's why I want someone with some top level coaching experience in to help him. Not some Aussies ' getting a leg up' Ffs

Mate, Eze and Williams, we immediately take a step up in attack, a huge step up IMO. That's an outlay of £120-150M. Granted most of it will be up front, but it's within our budget. Wages would be offset somewhat by those leaving or left, and we have enormous wiggle room when it comes to our wage to revenue percentage.

Williams is the bigger needle mover for me, I think he'd tear the Prem a new one with us, so I'd do whatever it takes to get him in.

That's just my opinion though, not an expectation.

I’m hiding behind nationality but you are upset that Australians are getting a leg up?

Read your post before you send it mate.

These guys are coming in to be ACs, what level of coach are you expecting?

Stellini was Conte’s main AC and he’d been a disaster at lower level Italian clubs as HC. Then won everything as Conte’s AC. This new guy has a better HC resume than Stellini but Stellini was fine for everyone in here because Conte is a proven winner and wanted to bring him. The rest of Conte’s staff was pretty much jobs for the boys from his family.

For the melts:

Monty is assistant coach.

Wait, so they aren’t even coming in as First AC but between them they have playing experience in England and coaching experience in Benfica.

Will be funny watching people explain how they didn’t just go Ozzie = don’t know “our game “

Fully agree but there were direct quotes from Williams himself during the Euros saying he wants to stay at Bilbao. Atm he’s just a name being tossed around.

Kubo would also move the needle for me and we’ve been linked. He’s even more of a wizard with the ball than Williams

who cares about playing experience?

jedinak and Mason have playing experience and neither were any good in helping us to stop conceding set piece goals.

I wanted a specialist in set piece coaching coning in but of course Ange doesn't because it's not important "mate". When we continue to concede set piece goals we can all pretend to be shocked that the cycle has repeated itself.

Not important mate isn’t what he said. He said other things were more important at that stage.

And he’s had issues with set pieces in the first season at almost every club but fixed it second season without hiring a specialist.

Also, …for all we know this Raimundo or Montgomery guy might be shit hot on the set pieces but don’t want to be pigeonholed.
Set piece coach can be legit but it can be also be a gimmick. If we concede from throwins do we need to hire a throw in coach? Or do we task one of the staff we have to study thrown ins and help us improve?
