You prattled on about goals and assists mate, him scoring a few tap ins and setting up a few goals doesn't change the fact he's a technically poor player who is not good enough for a team that wants to compete for trophies.

Your understanding of football seems limited to looking at the scoresheet and deciding who's good based on that so best we don't converse.
I wouldn’t say he’s technically poor. Generally he has a good first touch and can pick players out in the box. Technically sound ain’t always about step overs and having a little trick and quick feet to beat someone. He’s got good movement to get in behind and cause teams problems. There’s more than one type of wide player. Everyone seems obsessed with the come towards the ball, head down dribbly winger type now. He’ll play a big part again next season

I hear you but you can carry one G/A only player, we are carrying him and Son plus arguably Richy who has work rate but not build up and creativity
yea exactly. 3 forwards and not one of them have a good all round game where they are comfortable on the ball. thats why the football stinks and is a frustrating watch.

i actually think the wide men take priority over the striker in needing to be good on the ball in this system. you can get away with richarlison if the wide men are silky.

Yeah I don’t agree - a fully fit Richy yes but hes only been firing in about 10 games or so from c.90 games in total

well lets hope he can actually stay fit this season. unfortunately his dog work does come with tax.

which is why you need players that can actually keep the ball! its a fucking hard game when you aint got it and you got teammates fluffing it up over and over.

It’s the lack of build up, losing it and not allowing the team to build across the front 3. Painful - we need at least one new player either at 9 or wide that can repeatedly take the ball and cycle it

Agree.

Sure there are better strikers in the world, but Richarlison is actually an ideal type of striker for this system- he's a pressing machine, speedy w/aerial presence, who's meant to finish incisive moves, not necessarily create them. That's why I'm more worried about getting in skilled wide players than I am about replacing Richarlison. A healthy Richarlison will score about as many goals as our wide players and set piece takers can create for him, and likely not many more than that.

I'd actually be happy to try out Veliz as understudy too- he DID grab a goal despite hardly any minutes and injuries, AND he looked pretty good out there when he was playing. Would be very disappointed to see him shelved so soon after some promising appearances.

If we don't make a move for Doue, Kubo or some other high quality winger, I'm gonna be severely disappointed in Levy.

yea hes a box threat, which is what you want if you have competent wide players who can get the ball in the box! hes never going to be berbatov! but hes a dog out of possession and will stick it on them.

We must be watching different players.

I never mentioned step overs, quick feet or skills.

He doesn't have a good first touch, especially under pressure, at times he's almost hiding from receiving the ball with a man on him. He tends to just play the ball back where it came from unless he receives it in the perfect situation to cross the ball which he does, low and hard across the box but with no regard to who's in the box and where. That might very well be tactical instruction but good first touch and able to pick players out is a massive stretch.

This keeps getting repeated for some reason. Spurs don't spend £50m on cover.

This is the best presser in the squad? Really?
He wasn’t expected to play over Kulu.

These aren’t pressing stats.

The only one that remotely can be used at a push would be tackles won in attacking 3rd and this is clutching at best, now compare that against Son, Werner, Richie, Madders & Kulu (my guess is Kulu and Madders might have done slightly better given they are more central???)

You’ve gotta doué the deal before the big clubs know what hit them. Give the best offer early. PSG and Bayern will swoop otherwise

I I think. Richy is gonna surprise people this season

Keep him fit (not particularly injury prone) and he’ll get 20 this season

Still want a Toney or whoever in too cause we need to be looking at winning the Europa
