Lot of reports linking us with Doue.

I am not that sold on him. He is mainly a LW who can play at 10. He is similar to Eze though not as good. A younger, cheaper inferior version. Why do we want spend £50m on a player behind Sonny on the wing and behind Maddison in the 10. A £50m back up player.

We've already brought in a couple of exciting 18yos for the future and that is great. Now we are in desperate need to improve the starting side which in turn will improve our depth. Not buying back up players as depth.

I know the club has been burnt a couple of times with their big money purchases but you can't get gun shy, you've got to pull the trigger on a couple of starting players.

If it's a choice Eze over Doue is an easy pick for me

We must be watching different players.

I never mentioned step overs, quick feet or skills.

He doesn't have a good first touch, especially under pressure, at times he's almost hiding from receiving the ball with a man on him. He tends to just play the ball back where it came from unless he receives it in the perfect situation to cross the ball which he does, low and hard across the box but with no regard to who's in the box and where. That might very well be tactical instruction but good first touch and able to pick players out is a massive stretch.
He rarely coughs up the ball through a bad touch. He’ll get brushed off of it back to goal sometimes but that’s more use of the body/lack of core strength and how the team move the ball.

At the moment anyway he’s not a come towards the ball receive it back to goal and turn type of winger and might not ever be one but if you have other players in the final third who can do it then that’s fine. That’s where the problems were last season. It was all a bit 1 dimensional. There’s more than 1 type of wide player, you also need someone to threaten the spaces in behind without the ball to stretch teams and open up spaces

Hmmm. Maybe watch it again. It’s not a bad pen, but it was our worst. Sommer being a short-arse helped.
Strikes me the keepers often wait as they know Toney looks for them to move . If you don’t wait and go the right way you have a chance , if you wait and the penalty is decent you have no chance . Toney’s record speaks for itself , go early he rolls it the other side , delay and you can’t get there regardless

He's a better fit than Eze in our system, I don't know where this notion if Eze playing on the wing has come from when he doesn't even play there for Palace.

watched him play for england on Saturday (yes only a few minutes) but he wasn't playing as an Left winger
I want my Left winger to be able to go on the outside and NOT have to cut in or play the ball backwards (like what happens when its a right footer on the left)

Yup, he's an inside 10 not an outside winger.

Watch the pen again, it’s on bbc footie site. He watches the keeper the whole time but STILL puts it on the side the keeper goes! It wasn’t even in the corner. His looked ballsey but was actually the worst pen. His was the luckiest of ours.

Sure, he’s got self-belief, but it’s not that well founded.

By watching the keeper it stops keepers diving early making it harder to get to the corner of the goal. Most penalty saves are when the keeper goes early and guesses the right way

I must admit I am getting a bit edgy that we still haven’t secured a new forward. There is a lot of unfounded talk about Eze, Doue etc but what we need is a proper centre forward that replaces Kane. Son is better on the left, Richarleson is not good enough, Veliz too young. I can only think/hope the player we are after is still involved in the Euros
