This is what I mean about Parrott. Why do we get such low fees compared to City. This guy hasnt done half of what Parrot has done.

Seems like everyone is trying to copy the Pep and City blueprint which comes at a cost because their academy and infrastructure is the best in the land and clubs know that their young players are nurtured well that they have a higher chance of success.

Yeah he is on an upwards curve though. Scroing goals and starting for his country, hitting a good age for a striker as well. I don't want to hear anyone say shit when he scores 20+ Eriedivisie goals next year and a big European club comes sniffing to AZ Alkmaar.

We had better have a sell on clause.
Did you not learn from your Gift Orban obsession last summer?

If there were English clubs in for parrot i am sure we would have got more.

Let’s not make him out to be something he’s not. He got 3 goals in 32 appearances in the championship in 22/23 season. And 8 in 41 in league one the season before.

Take the money and move on.
This. We have to move players on. Its one of the reasons we were mired in mediocrity for 4 or 5 seasons, our inability to move on the likes of Winks, Sissoko, Dier, Sess, Ndombele etc. If it means taking a hit of a couple of mil so be it, you cant win every deal. I hope Parrott has a good career but the fact it appears to be only AZ interested tells a story, they could easily have been outbid by even a decent championship club. We still have 6 or 7 players to shift, we cant piss around all summer.

Bang on.

Here is the deal and what I really want Mr Levy to understand. When clubs overpay for City players it's because they want to try and buy some of City's success. The mentality is that City are good and have incredible players because they win, so the chances of a player unable to get in City's team being good is still very high.

Palmer was great for City's ability to charge clubs through the nose.

If we want to sell our players for more, we need success. It's that simple. The extra investment for buying elite level talent that wins you things DOES have a knock on effect in a positive way.
Great point

Totally agree, we also have Scarlett, veliz and lankshear coming through the ranks and all vying for minutes.

Can’t keep them all and I am sure Troy wants to play so good luck to him. Hope he makes a good career for himself.

So, PSG are going to keep Xavi Simons after talks with Luis Enrique and Bayern will go get Doue for about 40-45m.

Eze better be on the cards.

Bayern got Tel from Rennes as well. If they don’t want Simons anymore they probably have everything going for them to get Doue

A sell on clause would be better than a buy back clause.
Cause if some one spent money on him and took him to a top league, they'll have wasted money.
And we'd get some of the money.

Good luck to him.

Would have liked to have seen how he would do in pre season but he's earned that move. Hope he continues to kill it out there.
I'm pleased for him and hope he continues to develop and show the form he had last season more consistently.

I think Parrott has matured, as a person, a lot in the last 18 months. In that regard he is a late bloomer. I really do think his ceiling as a footballer is higher than many here think. There is no guarantee he will reach that ceiling but I hope he goes on to have an excellent career.
