So still no real signing then? Before anyone says anything, yes I know we have acquired the services of a couple of 8 year olds. Great, I'm really pleased. I'm sure in 2031, they'll be first team ready, but until then time is ticking on and the Bald Cuont is doing nothing...

We need a striker, a winger and a new dm, but the Bald Cunt would rather build hotels and sign children.

Highest paid chairman in the league. What a fucking joke.
Our first three home games sold out in minutes! In Levy we trust!

He's a ball carrier, Maddison is a playmaker

It's like saying Moussa Dembele is a replacement for Eriksen.

No doubt we lack a player of Eze's profile but saying he is creative doesn't really make sense.
Whilst Maddison is slightly more creative, I don't think the difference is as big as you think.

Eze had an xA of 0.25 per 90 vs 0.27 for Maddison last season, but since Palace have shit strikers and ours are decent, Eze assists was only 0.18 v Maddisons 0.38.

Whilst Maddison has smashed Eze last season in thing like Completed Passes (51 v 30), Progressive Passes (9.44 v 4.47) and Passes into the Penalty Area (2.49 v 1.97), this is more to do with styles of play of the teams, as Maddison himself has had a huge jump up from his last 2 seasons at Leicester, as he was averaging 30 x Completed Passes, 5.23 x Progressive Passes and 1.19 x Passes into the Penalty Area, which is very similar to Eze.

Dragusin and Bergvall were January signings. I was talking about this summer window but as you say, if we take it over a year, then we still have 136m over this summer and January. Not sure why you only have 50m of speculative incoming money. I think 100m incoming from sales is more than reasonable and even if we don't get that it will definitely be over 50m...BUT let's say you are right, considering January spends are rarely big, I guess most of that 136m would be across this summer window....I

Ange saying he would spend 100m on x2 50m players is all fine but if we really are shopping for a CF he's really unlikely to get a real upgrade on Richy for 50m. I know people talk about Toney but I just can't see it for about 50 reasons. Age, attitude, profile fit, non-penalty goals... none of it adds up to a player we are dropping big money and wages on.

It's hard right now to see where the spend will come from but you are right about Lange and not being able to write any signings off yet. Nobody has a clue what we are up to.
Bergvall wasn't, we literally couldn't sign him due to UEFA rules on signing players under 18 and his birthday was 2 days after the transfer window.

Interesting.

Yeah, Doue is a generational talent. Can see it just by watching him. Not surprised big clubs are after him and also not surprised we couldn't get it done.
Doue could well be generational, but the stats you're replying to mark him down as a central midfielder, which he clearly isn't.

Here are his stats up against wingers/attacking mids:

Still not bad but lots of work to do on his output.

You missed the ~27M for Drogo and ~8M for Bergvall

Spurs average net spend over last 4 years is 112M per year.

112 average net spend
-73 already spent (including January)
+47 incoming done deals
+50 speculative incoming (Royal etc)
=136M still in the kitty

Not to say we'll actually spend that, but it's what recent history suggests is reasonably likely.

Add to that Ange's interview comments "If I had the luxury of £100m, I'd rather get two £50m players", together with POK comments about 3 more incoming targets. It doesn't seem unreasonable to expect 3 more £40-50M signings this window.

Given that there has been zero correlation between ITK rumours and bomba announcements since Lange took over, I think we can say that we have zero idea who those three will be. Even the ones that seem to have been gazumped by European giants (eg Doue) can't be ruled out as we saw with Dragusin in January.

I have a hunch that Yang Min-Hyeok may be one of them, given the timing of Gangwon FC's CEO's planned live stream announcement July 28th/29th.

I have no idea about the other two. I don't think Toney or Doue will pass the Ange test re character and motivation to move to Spurs, but happy to be proved wrong. I'd be happy with Eze although it's a little out of step strategically vs recent signings (18 to 23yo's from other leagues, notable exceptions Maddison and Vic).
Great post.

Assuming you're right about all this then I'd expect the vast majority of that cash to go on a striker and RW.

Toney for around £40m seems the most likely one to me. HG, Prem proven. Only question on when in the window it happens, might have to wait til after the season starts for Brentford to drop their asking price.

Regarding the RW, Neto would probably cost around £50m. Doue likely similar. Have we been linked with any other names? Bit quiet on that front.

That leaves £50m for elsewhere. I wouldn't be surprised if this is split between a number of £10-15m buys. Maybe this Hyuk-Tuah kid from Korea, and a back up #6 like Burger.

Which then leaves £30m odd for the LCB/LB back up, maybe this Locko chap. Sounds about right. Then reintegrate Spence at RB, promote Devine, Moore, and possibly Phillips to the first team squad.

For me this all would appear to rule out a signing like Eze, I don't see how the club could justify such a large up front spend in a non-essential position when there are other, far more important spots to fill.

Unless, that is, we manage to sell Richy to the Saudis. Get that deal done and that changes everything.
