The betting incidents precede his time at Brentford.

Ivan Toney made 13 bets against his own team in seven different matches between August 2017 and March 2018. He was not in the match squad or not eligible to play in any of these matches.

During this period, he was on loan to Wigan and Scunthorpe. It’s not clear from the material I’ve read if he bet against his loan club or parent club (Newcastle).
Ah right! Thanks.

I thought it meant he was playing in the games he was betting against which seemed a big no no!

feels like this is the one, our big marque signing - be a club record too no doubt

I'd be happy with it, need more clever players. Too many times next season will teams have 10 behind the ball against us all game
If we signed Eze and Gyokeres that would be a big shift in the club's mentality to transfers.

People could argue with the fit or need in the squad but in terms of ambition, that would be shift.

None of Neto's injuries are recurring problems.

Chiesa tore his cruciate ligament and had regular knee problems ever since. And he's older.

Of the 2 Chiesa is probably the bigger injury risk over Neto. Just watch them, Neto looked just as explosive as always this summer, Chiesa has very clearly lost a couple of yards.
Chiesa? I was talking about Eze.

Chiesa is a terrible idea.

Have any of you considered that a big part of the reason we haven’t won anything for 20+ years is the club culture? It’s a difficult thing to put your finger on but it exists through every level of every sporting club in the world. (Including the fans in many cases) It’s a mentality that filters down through everyone, especially those in the dressing room .
Maybe that’s the real reason many dislike DL and Enic so much. We’ve had squads good enough to win silverware so why haven’t we? The fact that we didn’t buy anyone for two or three windows under Poch or when we didn’t get rednapp any decent players in the Jan window when we were top can be easily put down to DL , but it goes to a deeper level and affects the club culture a lot.

This is what Ange is talking about, especially (and here I’m going to cop flack from you all) his comments re the City game near the end of last season. Ange is trying to I still a winning culture at the club. It’s also the thing Mourinho moaned about

Now have a go at me all you like, I’m 69 and developed a thick skin
Nah...I'm sorry but that's a reach. We can go all macro vs Micro on why we have underachiever. It's not that deep. Culture gets bandied about depending on the needs of its user. We have probably had three really good teams that were short of no more than three players each to win silverware. All of whom came under Pochettino. For whatever reason he did not value an FA cup or League cup because he genuinely thought we would win the league or ECL.

Pochettino clearly wasn't the brightest because it was obvious those constraints, that raise the wage ceiling and get the three players( for arguments sake let's call them Mane, De Jong, Brant) could not happen whilst we built the stadium. It's pretty binary, add Mane to prime Poch Spurs and we win things. It's not culture it's strategy and priorities and us bunch of blowhards on line make zero difference to what we win. That's on you know who, no matter what some say.

I’d give both a big swerve as we’ve carried far too many sick notes over the last five years.

You can have all the talent, but the biggest asset is availability.

It’s clearly a factor but how come the Senegalese market never gets mentioned when it’s Sarr or the Swedish one with Bergvall?

We’ve had chances to sign other Koreans (the meltdown over Mourinho lying over Kim MJ, Kang Lee last summer etc.)

He’s the most promising young talent out there and it fits in with the others we’re signing.

If it was markets Levy were purely after surely he’d just have 2 designated squad places, 1 Indian, 1 Chinese . Sorted.
We didn't buy Pape Mata Sarr from the Senegalese league. Oh my bad you mean the support. Because they don't travel or follow their individuals in such a frankly cultist way. People are different ( thank goodness)
