So far, this transfer window has a touch of, something is not quite right behind the scenes.
I don't think it's the infamous 2018 missed opportunity window but, I don't think ange will get what he wants, B,C or D alternatives incoming.

Let’s see, it might be just due to Lange apparently working quietly unlike Fabio but obviously if it stays the same and ends like this or with a few unsuitable players walking through the door my gut would be Levy is back running transfers and only hitting deals where he thinks there is economic value.

Again we will know at the end of the window. If it’s Neto, Solanke and one other I think we have done what is needed.

Three incoming along with the young players that have come in would, certainly do for now, possibly a bit light at LB and CB, but will take another window at least due to years of neglect and poor signings.

Yeah it's amazing how the first thought of recent transfer windows is 2018, must have did some real damage to people

EDIT - Did profspur cook here, this probably explains a lot:

The Spurs fanbase on the internet is fucked. Properly fucked. The negativity is so relentless and over-dramatic it just becomes noise but it only grows in comparison to any other type of commentary about the club.

There are valid things to criticize the club for and they need to be said but the constant wall of durge just drowns it out.

The last 5 years have left people completely brain damaged. Also add in the Levy/ENIC fatigue, but nobody has £3billion

Kane left a year ago and havebt got a replacement. Levy all over. Champagne tastes....beer money.
Richie is the replacement. We need to upgrade him, not replace Kane.
As for beer money, Levy is more a tap water type of drinker.
Come on we should be excited we signed a deal yesterday to double sporting events at our ground. Forget getting a striker. Balance sheets come first under this owner.
Yet more value added to the club to be used as collateral for non football business.

This is what I'm starting to feel. Levy getting nervous after the 2nd half of last season went down the shitter so badly and only signing youngsters for a few years down the line stinks of cold feet.

Of course it'll be the infinite loop of blame if Ang is gone by Christmas. Did he get sacked because he didn't get backed, or did he not get backed because he was already in line for the sack.

I'd agree but we have never been willing to buy players in Solanke, Eze and Neto's position (and arguably Gallagher's). I don't understand why they were made targets when we know the club won't pay (and Levy is distracted with the same). Poor work from Lange.

Essentially the same team as last year no forward upgrades or a number 6 cdm hell we need a striker too. 3/10 so far only because I liked the gray signing
Yeah so we already know we're not getting the 6 upgrade. So we are limited there already by Biss' ceiling.

We needed upgrades in all 3 attacking roles. LW we went for the cheap stopgap in Werner rather than genuine competition for Son.

That still leaves CF and RW to take care of. We need to have new starters in both positions by the end of the window or it has been complete failure.

Neto is the only RW I can see us linked with. I'd be happy with that but maybe he is a smokescreen for someone else.

Solanke or Gyokores at CF would do the job.

The whole point of a DOF and recruitment team is that you don’t recruit only for a manager, you recruit a squad and have managers lined up to fit that squad.

This has been explained a million FUCKING times. 🙏 PLEASE give it a rest.

It’s been a shit window so far but that’s all it’s been. It hasn’t been a signal for the end of days or that Ange isn’t trusted because we don’t work that way these days.

After watching the first half against Bayern the needs are fairly obvious.

A striker who can hold up the ball is a must, Richy not good enough, not reliable/fit enough. Kulu no better in that role, nor is son, albeit he does offer something difference against suitable opponents.

An alternative at right wing. I do think BJ has a role, but he was really poor today.

A Maddison alternative or rather a Maddison replacement/someone to rotate alongside him, as Maddison shows little sign of rediscovering his form, again Eze is the obvious choice.

I still worry about our number 6 and our left/right back back up. Spence looks ok going forward, but defensively is still very naive.
A back up keeper is also a must.

A lot to do in not a lot of time.

Winning teams make good players sit on the bench. If Bernardo, De Bruyne and Foden are in the starting XI for City then Grealish, Alvarez and Doku have to keep their tracksuits on. That’s how it has to be.

Hesitating to sign Eze because it might put pressure on a fickle player like Maddison makes no sense. Maddison is not special, he has played 10 good games for Tottenham. Has no right to expect a spot in the starting XI.

Eze is exactly what we need, he plays with courage, he’s dangerous and he’s proven in the PL. It can only be a good thing for us if Maddison is forced to step up his game. Competition brings the best out of everyone.

But we are not a winning team and far from it.
Man City have had unlimited funds for 15 years we do not. We have a limited budget and will not be able to do what city do

We moved to a big shiny new stadium, we pay some of the most expensive ticket prices on earth, we sold our best ever player for £100m, we've cleared to wage budget by getting rid of the deadwood.

Please can someone tell me why we don't have the budget to actually buy some quality players?

Oh yeah...
