Pochs end game was titles and he got us close, then we decided to put a self imposed embargo on transfers.

Speak to fans of other clubs, nobody believes this club will do what it takes to win a title from an investment perspective beyond "maybe they'll get lucky one year".

It's a real issue with this club. We are the most high profile club with a clear and obvious reputation for missing out on trophies despite having the means if the squad is proritised at key points.
You asked for signals, I gave you one.

You seriously expect to get a "balanced" viewpoint from the fans of other clubs? LOL.

Massive Richy fan but with his injury record and Ange confirming he wants a striker, it’s fucking obvious the club don’t think Richy can stay fit for a season.

If that’s the case, tbh I’d prefer to sell Richy, bring one of Solanke/Gyokeres then use Kulusevski as the rotation #9 and get another RW.

And as a huge Ange fan he can fuck off with not getting it done in one window either. That needs to happen this summer.

He can't even stay fit for a pre-season.

Still seeing reports that we are interested in RBs if Royal leaves.

I don’t see practice sessions obviously, but Spence has convinced me he can provide needed cover. (Not to mention Gray)

Much rather save the $ for striker and a RW.

Can’t pretend I have watched Solanke enough to know if he’s what we need, but pickings do seem slim for any sure fire option.

I’d love Eze, but really think RW is next must fix spot. Johnson is effective in some situations, but need someone for the low blocks we see so often.

If we did get Solanke, Eze, and a viable RW, really think we could challenge. (Big IF of course)

Has looked good at the Olympics for sure

Anyone seen how he's been at Reims?

Very interesting player and profile. I'm over the moon that we're looking at 6/8 solutions as it's clear that without Bissouma our midfield has fuck all press resistance.

I'm not going to pretend I've watched him a bunch but I find his movement incredibly rare at that height, and he has real foot skills. His dad was a superstar NBA player too which intrigues me.

Btw, part of our set piece defending issues is a lack of headers. Son won’t on either side of the pitch. VdV isn’t a great header despite hit height. Can’t think of anyone besides Romero and Royal really that consistently wins those duels.

Am I missing someone?

Solanke is tall, how is he in the air? Kane was always so good on defensive headers.

£65m for Solanke does seem mad. Without getting in to whether I think he’s the right signing or not as that’s already been done to death in this thread:

I’d take him for Richarlison to Saudi and £5m to Bournemouth from us though.

Think it’s more the 6 imo.
We have reasonable talent/depth at the 8.
But if Biss is out or not playing well, no one I have confidence in that role.

Woolwich get Osimhen we get Solanke feels a little bit Bergkamp/Armstrongy.

I dare say Solanke is an incremental upgrade on Richarlison but our biggest problem is the people either side and in midfield who are supposed to be creating the chances for a CF.

I might have seen him but if I have I don’t remember it?

Sorry.

Yeh Solanke is fine in terms of competition/replacement for Richarlison but we still need Eze/Neto if we want to make an go of it with City/Arse/Pool and the betting would be we won’t do that.

I think Gray can grow into that role but he's clearly a bit behind where we'd like him to be at the price we've paid for him. No alarm bells yet or anything just don't believe he's ready right now. Which is concerning given the fee.

Apparently available for £10m

Could be one of those we sign and send back on loan tbh.
He's left-footed as well, which ties in with my conspiracy theory about Ange's plan for squad depth by having loads of players with midfielder skill sets that can play FB and CB. Burger is the same, so is Archie Gray.

According to my theory (which I've completely made up) we sign this guy or Burger and they get minutes at #6, LCB, or LB. Then Archie Gray also gets some minutes at #6, RCB, or RB. Then we only need Spence as the specialist rotation FB. Means we could let Skipp and or Bentancur go, then replace them and the back up LB/LCB with one player in the squad.

Michael Ray Richardson.. before my time but that is some good athletic stock.

One of the things that really makes Solanke interesting is that he's a basketball level athlete.

No single signing we make is going to turn us into title contenders.

What Solanke would be is an improvement on Richarlison. All you can ever ask of any big money signing is that they are better than whoever they might be replacing in the team.

Post of the day.

You don't need to be an expert to see that Richy is a busted flush, injury prone and even when fit cannot hold the ball up worth a shit.

Bitches constantly, and looks fucked after the first thirty minutes. As bad a signing money wise as N'Dombele.

Mistake made, move on and get rid.
