I don't think he's average, but he's a very different profile from Solanke / Gyokores / Toney, so if we suddenly changed targets to him just cause he's available, I'd have some questions for the recruitment team.

Yeh he is like a better version of Gabriel Jesus. A sort of number 9/10 who comes deep, runs channels wide. Nice player but isn’t going to give you a central target man to play off who will bully and run the centre backs.

He also had a bit of a poor season compared to his previous.

If he can emulate close enough to what he did last season, which was to be at 12 goals by the end of December, then we'll at least know this lads career is legit taking off and we're not signing a player who can't consistently bang in a ton of goals season on season. If they charge that more, then so be it? Seems a necessary risk to me! Don't you think?
Seems like a lot of risk on Bournemouth's end. Player moving to a new club, new system, new manager, higher expectations - if he hits the ground running you get more money, if he sputters you get less. I wouldn't do it, were I them.

Edit: Assumed the first post was a loan with option to buy, see now maybe it just suggested not buying at all until January? Don't see that as a good option for either party, either.

Eh? There is such a thing as moving on you know. You brought up the signings so I addressed that and expanded on it.

You want to steer clear of questioning someone else's grey matter when that doesn't register.
I thought this whole conversation started with a question about teams going backwards if they don't make signings but it was me that brought up signings? Moving on.
Like I said, you brought the signings up and he's a kid. City's squad was pushed to the last day by Woolwich, and it's premier talents are ageing. Do you think that boy will make the difference?
What difference does the boy need to make? They have won the league 4 years on the trot and are being pushed by a team that spends serious money on fees and wages to address weaknesses in their team, a team we finished above a mere 2 seasons ago btw, how time flies eh.
It wasn't an argument, it was a question. It seems you find the difference between the two difficult to grasp.
Yawn.
I never claimed you did, but it was pertinent to the discussion, and was further explained immediately afterwards. You know, the bit you didn't highlight and chose to ignore.
Yawn.
I've never once said that people can't make early judgements, I merely argue against them and give my reasons. It's the anger and vitriole that grates me as it's premature. Concern yes, outright anger no. If we're in the same boat come the end of the window then that anger is justified, and you won't be alone.
Completely fair.
Not ignored, it's just my mindset when it comes to the league, and in particular winning it. As a fan, my rivals are those you would expect, Woolwich, Chelsea, Liverpool, City and Utd. Those are the teams I have that extra desire to beat. However, I want us to beat everyone, so they're all rivals. All you're doing there is applying semantics to score points.
Let's not talk about semantics here mate, when asked who our rivals are you stated every team in the league and have the cheek to talk about semantics?

I think we can leave it on this note, you want to wait until the end of the window to have it confirmed that nothing's changed in terms of how this club operates which is your prerogative, I think it's already clear to see.

So now you're moving the goalposts from Son to Werner, fantastic.

Yeah mate, let's just end this for your sake. 🤦‍♀️
I have said multiple times now, we can only guess and I have given you various ways of speculating why not, including the possibility of us not even wanting a LW but you refuse to compute. I've realized I'm responding to a faceless random on a message board demanding that I prove a negative so fool me once...

Just so we're clear, you think because I mentioned we have signed three youngsters and because we didn't sign a fourth that must mean he isn't good enough because, in your words, he should be the perfect fit because of his age and that presents a contradiction. I'm glad I don't think the way you think.

He might not be everybody's cup of tea but I do think Solanke would be a good fit for the system .

Another striker is a necessity and the options available are few and far between .

Yeh , £65M is crazy but needs must and if we let another one slip the net , God knows who we end up with ( or not ) as the case may be .
